Anyone else want to see Vick play the Falcons in Atlanta?
I wouldn't be shocked if the Falcons at home lost to the Eagles, Bears, Saints, Packers, or Giants.. They'd be favored in all of those games, but their defense isn't good enough where they can just run away from teams..

I am still not sold on the Falcons, this coming from someone who has been beaten by them twice in the past few weeks with me taking GB and Balt at Atl. The Falcons are a good team, Im not saying their bad or anything, but it just seems that they are getting just enough breaks in these games to win. I need a double digit win vs a good team before i crown them the best team in the NFC. Im still not sure how they are rated ahead of the Partiots in the power rankings. If Tom Brady played Matt Ryan in Atlanta, he would for sure get that 2nd home loss.

The sad thing is the Atl - Philly matchup was being talked about for 4 hrs on Atl Sports radio every Falcon fan was calling in saying its gonna happen and that there going to the Super Bowl - all this while the Bears stymied the Eagles. The fans in Atl are desperate for a winner there Braves got spanked so there early calling this as a no brainer for them to reach the Super Bowl. The big difference is there D as we all remember the Cards put up a 50 spot on them in the playoffs 2yrs ago. There not giving up alot except for Philly this yr also they come out very prepared it seems the only way to contain them is get the lead early and stop Turner and force Matt to throw?

Are they Superbowl bound or not? Matt Ryan is 18-1 at home as a starter which does not just happen. Lets take a look at possible opponents for the Falcons if they do lock up the No 1 seed because they are yet to play Carolina which means you bump there record to 11-2 and would only need 1 or 2 other wins max.
NFC Wildcard race:
New Orleans
New York Giants or Philadelphia (In other words the runner up in that division)
Tampa Bay
Green Bay or Chicago (same as the NFC east scenario)
Now take a look at those teams and point to me which 1 of those teams could beat Atlanta in the Georgia Dome?
They beat Green Bay on Sunday with alot to spare in my opinion, they have beaten New Orleans on the road and that secondary of the Saints will not be able to handle Matty Ice again in my opinion. They beat Tampa Bay with ease at home 27-21 dont be fooled by the margin of victory it was not that close. Chicago well they have a good defense but can you trust Jay Cutler in the NFC divisional round in a noisy Georgia dome i cant.
So that brings me to the only possible opponents that could beat the Falcons in the Georgia Dome....drumroll please......the Giants or the Eagles, simple as that. I dont care what you say about the Giants they will always be a tough team to play maybe because me being an Eagles fan has something to do with that, but lets really look at it has Matt Ryan faced a mean D line? some may say the Ravens but there secondary is not as good as the Giants. Eli is a trusted, veteran qb and if Osi and Tuck wreak havoc that could be the end of the Falcons Superbowl dreams.
Finally why i think the Eagles could beat the Falcons in the Georgia Dome hmmm is it because im a homer? i dont know, but just picture this on Espn.com...."NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME TODAY, VICK GOES BACK TO ATLANTA" we all know that the commissioner loves a good cinderella story aka the Saints last year, so why not?
Am i a wackjob for coming up with these theories or am i just an excited NFL fan thinking about the playoffs?
Did we watch the same game? Two plays gave them the game: A fumble into the EZ by Rodgers and a facemask penalty that gives ATL the ball at midfield at the end.

If the Eagles make it to ATLANTA for the NFC Championship game- IT WILL BE MY BIGGEST BET OF MY LONG GAMBLING CAREER! The Eagles will NOT lose that game-PERIOD!!!!
losing at Chicago like they did....they will be no match for atlanta.

I hold my hands up and say that may have been a stupid thing to say i guess the fact i had Green Bay ML on sunday may have clouded my judgement.

Atleast your 1 to admit a mistake Desean, i agree with you on Green Bay im not sure what Rodgers overall record is in games that are decided by 4 points or less but i cant remember Aaron Rodgers winning a meaningful close game, they played Chicago on the road lost 17-20, they played Miami at home lost in ot 23-20, they played the skins on the road lost 13-16, they played the Vikes at home beat them 28-24 and on Sunday they lost another close game. That makes Rodgers 1-4 this year in close games, if the guy cant win close games in the regular season what makes you think he will during the playoffs when the stakes are that much higher?

Most likely it will be the saints or the eagles in the superbowl atlanta and green bay have chances but i think overall i think eagles and saints have the best teams in that division
In the Afc i think it will most likely be the pats or jets with baltimore and pittsburgh also possible contenders if the jets can beat the pats twice this week and beat the steelers in 2 weeks? then the jets are looking really good but i think the superbowl will be won by one of those 4 afc teams and i'm a steelers fan btw

They beat Atlanta handily this year in Philly. Yes, it was outdoors, but weather was not a factor. Shut down Turner and Matt Ryan looked like crap. Maybe he was rattled early, but he missed open guys with no pressure on him at least 4 times. Maybe it was an off day for Ryan, but Philly still crushed their run game and suprisingly covered Gonzo. I'm a Philly fan who expected a loss that day, but it was a suprisingly easy win.

No team in either conference has shown me that they are better than the defending Super Bowl champion Saints this year. How a 9-2 team stays under the radar like they do is beyond me.
Falcons beat them in the Superdome this already year.

saints - good D, brees not as magical, run game non-existent
nyg - 3rd down offense is God awful
tb - yeah right
gb - dangerous, good D, no run game tho
stl/sea - hahahahahahaha
chi - playing good ball by not letting cutler pass too much, solid D
phi - young D, top 10 D tho, most dynamic O in NFL, too much speed to handle, if opponent doesnt have a pass rush then forget about it, will be the nfc rep in the SB vs SD, pop their cherry in dallas, poetic justice at its finest, yes im a homer but im objective, and yes Vick is for real

You guys have to realize that the Saints defense is much better against the run than last year, I haven't looked, but the 2 games Matty lost I guarantee Michael Turner has under 60 yds. He is the juggernaut of that offense, you key in on him and Gonzalez, Atl is very avg.
Seriously? Interesting how the NFL leader in catches is completely forgotten in this discussion,

All bullshit aside, as a Falcons fan, here are the teams that worry me the most come the playoffs, dome or no dome:
1) Eagles - they've had ATL's number. No denying it. If you're a falcon fan that says otherwise, stop being a homer. Personally, I don't want to see Vick come back to the dome. It won't be an away game for the Eagles....more of a homecoming for Vick
2) Saints - division rival; enough said. Brees and the offense couldn't have hit their stride at a better time
3) Packers - I have much respect for this team. Rodgers is a top 5 QB in my book. Defense is tenacious and Clay Matthews is an absolute beast. Scary to think how good this team would be if they were not injury riddled.
Atlanta has not blown out anyone this year other than the cardinals but they have found their winning formula. Its a combination of a balanced offensive attack and playing SMART football . Well waht is smart football?
Least penalized team in the league, +10 turnover margin, and no turnovers in their last 4 games.
Balanced offensive attack: Lead the league in 10+ play drives, +5:00 drives, #2 in 3rd down efficiency, 19/5 TD-INT ratio, top 10 rusher, and the league's leader in catches (#2 in receiving yards)
Defensively, I've always hated the playcalling. This is the achilles heel for ATL. While the falcons have surprisingly held opponents to only 19ppg (7th), they give up a lot of yards through the air, mainly because of a lack of pass rush and plenty of soft zones.
The key to beating the falcons is establishing an early lead. Take them out of their comfort zone and force them to become one dimensional. Eliminate the balanced offensive attack, forcing Matty Ice to throw early and often. This will create more 3 and outs, exposing our overachieving defense. We all saw this in the Philly game when Eagles jumped out to an early 21-0 lead.

Im still trying to get my head around how Tampa Bay restricted the Ravens to only 17 points and how they kept a shut out in the 2nd half? The days when Jon Gruden was coaching them there defense was scary is it getting back to the good ole days of Derrick Brooks, Sapp and Lynch p.s. i didnt watch the game so thats why im asking.

I honestly think anyone of those teams could win in atlanta, except tampa bay. And as far as beating Green bay with alot of room to spare? Thats is the stupidest thing you could have ever said, they kicked a field to win with less than a minute left, and if it wasn't for Aaron Rodgers fumbling on the one yard line, they most likely would have lost.
