I disagree. You are making a huge assumption in the fact that Durant and Thompson will be capable of playing the defense you predict. They are both injured. The fact that Thompson missed this critical game 3 tells you that he's in big trouble. Durant is in week 4 of an 8 week or more injury. The odds that he comes back as his old self are slim.
Injuries are sinking the ship for Golden State. They will, however, win again next year.

Yeah. It's unfortunate that they are so injured, but the defense has been a joke. They basically played 8 minutes of D in game three (from the 9:00 mark to the 1:00 mark of the 2nd quarter when Toronto scored 5 points). If a gimpy Durant and Thompson are going to turn this D around, I will have to see it on the court to believe it.

I'm with Bob on this. After the game, Kerr said Durant won't play Friday and Thompson will play. Looney is a key part of the rotation. I do agree with BB that that the Warriors hung tough with no players except of Green and Curry. Toronto did have lulls offensively. But, I got hand it to Nick Nurse, he mixes and matches with the best of them. And Kerr is the best of them. He let Iblaka roam free in the second half. He started Van Fleet in the second half to slow Curry a tad. Danny Green is finals hot from 3. Why should we be surprised. He's done it before under the bright lights. And Kawii had a QUIET 30. The zig-zag says Dubs. The series has a 2004 Pistons feel. The better, deeper team beats the brittle big named starting 5.

I worried about how Klay's injury would affect him defensively but after watching Game 3, h3ll, they don't need him to play Klay Thompson level defense. Just hit a shot. Somehow the Warriors were never out of this game until the very end. To start the game, everyone not named Steph was afraid to shoot. This led to one too many passes being made and forced shots. Draymond and Iguodala shooting 3s is never a good look. Iguodala is a defensive specialist who hits timely shots but should never be looked to as a primary scoring option. Livingston, as i've said all year, got old in the off season. His best offensive weapon; the mid-range jumper has gone flat. Flat shots don't drop. McKinnie should've gotten the start and when I saw Livingston in the starting line-up I knew it would be a long night. And what can be said about Boogie. Game 3 was nice, and a surprise probably to even a team, but this game had his name all over it. He had a name placard at the head table of the banquet and he didn't show up. And when you're seated at the head table, and you skip out, everyone notices. He has no legs under him. So jumpshots, much like with Livingston, are flat. And I can't stress enough, flat shots don't go in. And in the post, not only could he not get up, he couldn't get his arms up. He looked old, slow, and pathetic. Draymond wasn't great. Iguodala wasn't great but I put this more than anything on Livingston and Boogie simply because they both started while there were better options. Mckinnie and Bogut, respectively.

After watching this game, I truly believe that Kerr starts McKinnie and Bogut, if he puts the confidence in them that he put in Boogie for game 2, they win this game. I get after gane 2, convential wisdom says you have to start Boogie but theres no way what we saw wouldn't have shown in practice. He literally could not get his arms up. He had 3 rebounds.
While i'm not as critical of Kerr as BB, part of this L belongs to him on lineup alone. It's like he sets lineups based on a different philosophy than best chance to win.
"Boogie should start because that's what we brought him here for. He's a star." "Livingston should start because he's been here. He deserves it."
Their are nuances of this team and this offense that Livingston understands better than McKinnie. He was actually the back up point guard before he got to old and Quinn Cook became the guy. We didn't need someone who understood the nuance of the team though. We needed someone to put the ball in the hoop. I'd take the punchers chance of a kid 10 times out of 10. And if it was all about understanding the ins and outs of the team, then why would Boogie start over Bogut. More than anyone, this loss was on Boogie, and Livingston, and Kerr.

Warriors, the dynasty, wins no matter who plays. Warriors for the series is a clear lock. No I dont believe in jinxes and have no reason to do that. I am on warriors for the series and also going to roll winnings on the ML for the last 3 games. I also like the warriors as a team and I am not an NBA fan. I just am impressed that they have the 3 best players in the world. That Miami team with Lebron and Wade and Bosh was awesome, I think they won like 27 in a row... but still didnt compare to the talent and success of this GS team

Who agrees with me that Klay is the 2nd best player in the NBA? I bet nobody will agree on that. And it's pretty clear to me. The records he has set, nobody including jordan will or has ever broke. And GS without him has a dismal record. Where as without KD they are nearly unbeatable. So to say that KD is the best player in the world makes little sense when Klay is clearly more valuable of a player. when Klay is consistently more deadly and accurate on offense than KD ever has been. especially under pressure. Klay won the championship WITHOUT KD, yet KD could never win it without klay. I could go on and on.

Completely agree. Sentiments may favour GSW in game 4 but Steph just played his best game ever in 43 minutes. Fatigue on his part will play a factor and Klay's ability to be back at 100% is suspect. KD is gone for the series, he's not going to jeopardize his future and FA just for a 3-peat.

Dude, you ruin every thread you go into. I really enjoy BB's Warrior threads because even though we don't always agree, he's one of the few people on this site whose knowledge of the Warriors can compare to mines. So it's always a good correspondence on this team. Then you come in, say some bonehead shyt, people will respond because everyone dislikes you, and the thread will go off the rails.

You guys deserve it. I mean, who was the last Canadian NHL Champion?

I mean, we took the sport over and now there are literally two teams in deserts plus teams in Florida, SoCal, San Jose....you get the point. When's the last time the Maple Leafs have won a Stanley Cup? I know not in the last 20 years. What if a team from Las Vegas gets one. Let that sink in. They almost did.

Last time the Maple Leafs hoisted the Holy Grail was 1967 and with that pathetic upper management of the Maple Leafs I doubt they win the Stanley Cup again in my lifetime unless the Toronto Raptors President Masai Ujiri and GM Bobby Webster know anything about hockey.
