A lot of Boston/LA Finals talk already. Guess the way that the Celts pounded the Pistons by 20 Wednesday has everyone convinced.
I will be the first to root on Boston if they get by Detroit- but there's no way that this series is over. Detroit plays too many games with the "we've been here before" attitude. Sometimes that gets them killed. The reality is, however, that they have been. I won't go into their previous 5-year history of comeback wins in a series- but let's just say they have been in this same position several times and have came out on top.
Boston should struggle all night tonight to match up with Detroit's intensity. If the Pistons win (and I think they will comfortably) then Boston will be in for an all-out war on Sunday. I guarantee you that they will not be able to finish Game 7 like they did Game 5 and still come out on top. I also can guarantee you that they will not shoot as high of a percentage as they did on Game 5. I will give credit when credit is due- Boston's FG% was INSANE for the 2nd and 3rd quarters. Do I think they can do it again? No.
Yes, I think Detroit still takes this series. As for tonight, Vegas seems to be setting themselves up for a huge windfall of $$$ as this line screams fishy with Rip being questionable and Boston backers are licking their chops. Rip is tough- he will play. I don't know how effective he will be or how much he is hurting.

i think people should look twice at the under also. seems like everyone is on the celtics and the under because of rip's injury. just really think others will step up like you said glad. stuckey is going to be a great player, esp with billups showing him the way. i just feel the supporting pistons can put up points with the best of em. caution fellas on the under and the celtics

Yea, for a team that couldn't win in Atlanta or Cleveland, they already put together their one great game on the road, i think it will be very tough for them to get their shit together tonite for another road win n the palace. If Hamilton is bothered by the injury, Hunter, Stuckey, and Billups iis more than enough guards to get th job done.I have a big teaser from last night with Det -1' and i'm considering adding to it.

not countin detroit out of the series but hamilton being hurt will be a huge blow to them. plus theyll have to contend with both boston and the refs in game 7 if it goes that far. and if detroit loses this series, they can go look back to game 3 where they played like the series was over because they had just won a game at boston. thats where this series was won and lost.

I think the Celtics will win game 7 at home, playing 8 on 5 against a Pistons team that isn't quite at full strength anyway.
That being said, this series WILL go 7.
I have Detroit -0.5 as the last leg of a teaser so I don't really care about the spread, but aside from the horrible collapse by Boston in the 4th quarter last game, the spread hasn't mattered whatsoever in this series. I expect Detroit to cover the number.

Nice write up, Gladiators, and I couldn't agree more. Joe Public is all over The Celtics tonight, as witnessed by the deflating line, which is now down to -5. I'm going to see if it goes to 4.5, then jump all over it, not that it will probably matter, as I see a double digit victory here. Anyway, GL to all, especially the Stones backers.
