The Bobcats just traded Maggette. At this current time what is the most dominant position in the NBA that teams are building around? Thats right SF!! I don't see MJ wanting to take Robinson here. He could take either Harrison Barnes or Kidd-Gilchrist.
In my opinion if I was Bobcats GM I would be deciding between Kidd-Gilchrist or Barnes. Both these guys are 6'8" same height as Thomas Robinson and much more skilled polished offensive players. Robinson is an undersized PF while these guys are prototype SF's that a re-building NBA team should build around. These guys already have the much further along developed perimeter games. It is much easier to work on and develop a post game than it is a perimeter game (LBJ and Durant prime examples).
I think both Barnes and Gilchrist are potential superstars that I would be happy to build around. They both have potential to be elite SF's down the road. Obviously Anthony Davis is #1 hands down. After him its these two in my opinion. Any team that passes up on either of these SF's to draft somebody else will regret it.
I would pound it super hard if I could but my book will only allow me to put 50$ on it. Just trying to help people make easy money and give my insight on this awesome draft class. This is by far the best draft class since LBJ, Melo, Wade and Bosh's 04 class.
Coming from a Sport Management major, I would pound it because if I was a GM I would be happy to get either of these two #2 overall over Robinson. And I think MJ has the same mindset after dealing Maggette and leaving the starting SF position wide open for an elite rook.
What do you guys think?
