Russell be like "This is MY team, this is MY ball, and I get the last shot. As long as you understand that, we be good"
Mr. Westbrook is all about Mr. Westbrook, and does not play well with others...............drove Kevin Durant crazy and straight to the Warriors (thanks again for that, Russ)

Paul George is quiet, which is good to have a silent striker, same with melo. Westbrook still controls the team. TOUGH.. being ima warriors fan and EVERYTEAM wants to take us down.. pretty funny with all these trades. Shows who is boss in the league.

Needless to say, and I won't find one person here who disagrees, this is a fleecing of the highest order on OKC's part.
Kanter can't play defense and will have a player option for $17 million next year tying up a huge payroll with Noah (who will make about the same).
McDermott to me is a fringe NBA player who can't defend or rebound. Loved him in college though.
And then the ultimately indignity: A SECOND round pick. WORTHLESS.
Remember when the Knicks gave up Camby, Novak a First Rounder and TWO Second Rounders just for Andrea Bargnani???
This is why this team loses time after time after time after time after time and doesn't even sniff the playoffs.
A disgrace of a trade through inept upper management and one Phil went out of his way to sully before he was jettisoned just to stick it to the Knicks and Melo on his way out the back door (with his $65 million).
Disgusted.
Just hoping the Knicks season win total is bottom of the barrel low and if there is value there, I will take it.

it's addition by subtraction for the Knicks. They'll be better without him and mainly a salary/ego dump. The return isn't in the players from OKC.

Okc have a very good big 3 along with adams and a good defender in roberson, but they are still below warriors rockets and spurs. Their starting 5 and bench are not as good as those 3 teams i think. I think houstons roster should be better defensively than last years. It will take time for okc to figire things out but i think their potential is lower than the top 3 but i think they can finish 4th. I also think the top 3 teams have a coaching advantage over okc. It should be a fun year in the west. Wanna watch twolves pelicans blazers lakers and nuggets

The bookies disagree with those who call Melo a "bum". OKC was 40 to 1 to win the title and now they are down to 17 to 1. I didn't know future hall of famers are bums.....

Melo is a team wrecker.Okc goes nowhere and knicks get better.
For knicks addition by subtraction. Guy can't play a team game.Pass to melo he holds the ball while the whole team watches. He can't pass out of a double team either.

congrats......he can score, adds nothing else. Who do you think they are better then in the West?
They are better then most of the western teams... Top 4 team, for sure. We will see, maybe they will be number three. 1. GSW 2. Rockets 3. OKC 4. Spurs

I wouldn't want Kanter or McDermott on my team to begin with and the 2nd rounder is basically worthless, so from that standpoint it wasn't a good trade for the Knicks. There seemed to be more demand for Melo that could've netted them something more.
That said, I can understand why Knick fans just wanted Melo gone so they could move on, but that doesn't necessarily mean it was a good trade.
For the players and salaries that OKC dumped in exchange for getting a likely motivated Melo to pair with Westbrook and PG13 for an experimental run which the fans will love, OKC clearly won the trade. It's not even close from that perspective.
Now, will this 'Big 3' be successful for OKC when combined with Adams and Roberson? That remains to be seen, but at least PG13, Roberson, and Adams all play solid defense.
Of course, it's highly unlikely that both PG13 and Melo will be members of the Thunder come 2018, but that wouldn't be the worst thing for OKC either since they'd at least have a ton of cap space then to re-build around Westbrook, Adams, and Roberson.
So 2017 is basically a free roll for OKC with no downside and where something could potentially work out longer term depending on how things go this season.
