1) Portland looks better on paper. No single player of James/Bryant/D.Howard caliber on Blazers roster whose absense would hamper them too much (James played just 14 minutes today and Cavs didn't cover.... watch them win by 22 in this same game during regular season when James plays 34 minutes). On the other hand... if Kevin Martin doesn't play 25+ minutes, and he won't... Kings should get pounded. It's a question of depth. Blazers JV will rape Sacramento JV any day.
2) Every team has a tendency to back off when leading by double digits. I like the fact that in their last regular season game Portland kept pushing Denver and beat them by 28. In terms of a street fight, this team knocked the opponent out, then kicked him when he was down and barely conscious, and then kicked some more. There will be no TV coverage tonight, and the crazy Portland fans should come out in numbers and once again push their team to win by 20+. Blazers just might oblige.
3) Aldridge's contract extension should be signed by 31 Oct or else he becomes restricted free agent after this season. In an interview, it was clear he is upset that he wasn't re-signed yet. Apparently, Pritchard the GM is trying to avoid signing Aldridge to the maximum money, and there is some haggling going on. Would 20 points in 15 minutes from Aldridge surprise anyone, given his current situation? Not me. It's already October 6.

Thank you Nate McMillan for playing both Roy and Aldridge the longest minutes of all starters in all preseason games so far. I guess the 17,800 fans in attendance would not put up with any crap from their beloved Blazers, and the guys in black delivered.
