The team who is run by the Hillbilly Price, Bob Nutting. Made another comical move. Signed Andre McCutcheon to a 1 year deal. It now appears Brian Reynolds trade in the works. They like to sugarcoat their next unpopular move.

Cutch signing strictly a desperation move to try to improve attendance. He’s been washed up for years, like plenty of other players in today’s game…..

The Pittsburgh Pirates are the poster franchise of an owner who is in it for the money. The formula, in basic terms, is : TV revenues, both national and local + stadium naming rights + concessions, ticket sales, and parking - Player payroll and other labor = profit. Until he sells, they will never win, not with super teams like the NYY, NYM, LAD, and SD in business. The good mews is that SD was once just as hopeless. Here's hoping the selfish ownership goes for a giant check and sells the team like SD's did. I feel bad for Pirate fans raising their kids, getting their hopes up for nothing.
The good news is that the Pirates are so bad that it is easy money batting against them. Why should the owner make all the money?
Until then, the Padre iinfield makes more than the entire Pirate team.
In European Football (soccer) owners like the one Pittsburgh has are prevented from running a losing team and taking advantage of TV deals earned by good teams. Every year the bottom 3 or 4 teams, depending on what country (England. France, Spain, Italy, etc.) are regulated to the next lower division. That would be AAA in baseball. Conversely, the top 3 - 4 trams from the lower division are promoted. The Pirates owners, as well as all MLB owners, are fully aware of how it is in Europe.
By the way I don't know who owns the Pirates, and I don't want to learn who they or he is. Their actions are enough information for me.
I bet Pit could be faded for 90 + losses this year for an easy profit. The only problem is that they are so bad the juice will be high.

Imho, the league should do what they did to Frank McCourt and force the Pirates and Reds to sell the teams.

@Sidehatch
Agreed with the comments. Nutting could care less about making this a playoff team. He's in it for the money. This year a $2.00 surcharge is being added to every tick for updated scoreboard. Cheap MF'er
