Wondering why hes going to be carrying an extra 10 pounds in the race Saturday. Thats quite a chunk. Anyone know ?

 His run in the Peter Pan was quite impressive.
Andt he track may come up muddy again Saturday.

Thought the Peter Pan was very impressive Vet, but what was more impressive was his paddock appearance, all muscle. The extra 10 lbs makes no sense, they are all 3 yr. olds. Where did you see this?

Actually there all carrying 126 lbs, except the filly
But thats 10 more then he carried in the Peter Pan.

Going to take a very long look at him Saturday

O.K. Got ya. I've been waiting for the Belmont since the Peter Pan. Just so visually impressive in the paddock and then to run like that was well beyond impressive. 5-2 would be nice, its always a great day the Belmont. Good luck vet.

jeez...I must be crazy thinking I can get 7 or 8 -1 then.


Hope the masses  bet Orb. Expecting another Belmont stunner.

Large fields at Belmont are the best Ram

Vet, I think Freedom Child will be in the 5-1 or 6-1 range behind Orb and Oxbow.  I actually don't think either of those two will win.  I don't think Oxbow can get the distance, Orb could win with the right kind of trip like the KD, but no way a lock.  I'm also looking at Palice Malice and Overanalyse.  I do believe there will be juicy exotic payoffs this year, still trying to solve this puzzle.  Any thoughts on those two are appreciated, and yes, I do like Freedom Child as well.....

Freedom child has been working great. He has impressed everyone at Belmont. I think his works alone will bring him down to 5-1. He's at 8-1 now coming down from 10-1. Orb has been switching from 5/2 to 3-1 daily.

Somewhat interesting, Overanalyze is out of Dixie Union,
who sired last years Belmont winner Union Rags.

Seems to run a good race after a bad one, and boy, his last was a real stinker.

Palace Malice I was high on right before the Derby.
On again,off again blinkers? I dont know. .I believe having them on at Churchill was the reason he burned up the track the first 3/4 mile
being more focused .  I guess there going to be off this time.

He will have to beat me but I well have him in a few tri's  just because I think he can get the distance.


Cap,I agree with you. Really dont belive he falls below 6-1 and well have him keyed on top in many Tri's

you will get freedom child at 10 to 1 in my opinion.  There will be tons on orb, the filly (especially with Rosie Riding), and tons split between the rest of Pletcher's Brigade, not to mention Oxbow as well.  I like Palace Malice, Overanalyze for reasons you have already mentioned plus Johnny V. riding, and Golden Soul if he stays close enough.  Longshot special Giant Finish to maybe hit the board.  I do not think Orb or Oxbow win.   This will be a wonderful betting race-GL to all!

Freedom Child will be the over bet of the Belmont, IMO his speed wont carry 12 furlongs. Dont think he'll get the easy lead he got in the Peter Pan either, but what do i know i was wrong about the derby and preakness pace scenarios

just read Mcpeak's instructions for Garcia on Frac Daddy are to go right to the lead from the rail. that is not good news for Freedom Child

I think he is a bad play. You won't get anything better than 5-1 on FC. Everyone is on him it seems. I've seen a lot of people say he drew a great post but I think it's a horrible post for him. He always breaks bad! If he doesn't break on top and being on the inside like he is he's going to he in some trouble.

On May 11th, the date of the Peter Pan, no closer won any of the 11 races that day. I would say there was definitely a track bias for anyone who got the lead.

Just another fact to mudlle the capping.....

Do any of you think Incognito or Midnight Taboo have a chance to hit the board?  Loving my longshots in this one....Orb will not win IMO!

Swale, Affirmed and Seattle Slew all went wire to wire as well and I did not go any further back.  Although your info was incorrect I must say I was surprised at the lack of front running wins the last 30 plus yrs.

I still am a firm believer the Belmont is not a closers race.

 Oxbow knows he cannot go to the lead here and win , so Stevens will have this horse just off the lead . I wonder do horses do better off  a Derby win or Preakness win in the Belmont ??

Derby winner hasnt won the belmont since 1995

Horses that have run in the Derby and Preakness are probably are not going to be at their best, 3rd race in 6 weeks and its at a mile and a half. I like horses that skip the preakness and come into the belmont fresh. Also like both the Peter Pan runners.
Orb has no reason to be in this race
