LONDON, Jan 28, 2008 (UPI via COMTEX) -- Led Zeppelin is considering reuniting for a world tour, following a triumphant, one-night-only reunion gig in London last month.
Since the members of the iconic rock group have individual commitments to honor, the tour likely won't kick off until next fall at the earliest, the Daily Telegraph said Monday.
"Jimmy (Page) has said that the band will be meeting up in August to talk about it. The band meet all the time. There is something in it but I can't give you any more news at the moment, publicist Chris Goodman told the newspaper.
Singer Robert Plant hinted a reunion tour might be in the offing when he was asked about it and replied, "You never know what's round the corner."

I'm not really sure if this is a good idea. Jimmy Page is nowhere near as good as he used to be. He can't play the tough parts of the songs anymore. And he's the main focal point of this band.
Robert Plant seems hesitant to do it. Plus you have Bonham's kid on drums.
These guys are in their mid 60's.
Not really sure. Why not just let the latest concert be the last one. It will come out on DVD soon enough.

I watched the YouTube video of this song at their recent concert and although Jimmy can still play some of it, the solos and stuff just aren't the same. It's a tough song at certain points and Page just can't play it at age 64.
The fingers and mind just aren't as quick as they used to be.

Robert Plant was at the Knicks game last week and they interviewed him at halftime on MSG. They asked him about this and he said there were no plans and that he was committed to a project with another band right now.

They will literally be able to name there own price. The police nearly doubled the touring revenue of the next most Successful tour last year, I think it was Justin Timberlake, and Zep would blow the Police out of the water. I wouldn't be surprised if this tour makes a half a billion dollars.

Father Time
With all due respect Greyhound, Jimmy never played any song the same way twice even back in their hayday. One of the great things about Zep was the ability of all members to improvise and "change it up" on the stage. Hendrix was the same way. He could never play a song the same way twice.
I suppose age (and many years of hard-core drug abuse) have slowed his fingers down a bit but I'd suspect that after a few more practices and a few shows that he'd be back in form.
As an aside, Jimmy was coming off of a broken finger when they did that reunion gig so it might explain why he didn't sound 100%.

I realize that. Go watch some videos of Page in his prime and then go watch the London concert and tell me he's just as good.
There's a big difference between playing a song a little differently every time and just playing the song bad.
In my opinion, in London Page played "Dazed and Confused" and other songs bad at certain points.
In no way am I knocking him. I worship the guy. He's just old now.

Everybody always ends up selling out for money it seems like. If they were a really cool band they would do a world tour and charge really cheap ticket prices so their real fans could go. Otherwise they are just like another Barbara Streisand. If they did a world tour and charged like a thousand dollars a ticket or something i would lose all respect for them.
