I use your method on a regular basis.
I like either parlaying moneyline favorites together, OR moneyline DOGS together.
When I look for favorites, I try to only take good teams that have something to lose. In other words, this week I wouldn't take teams like Marshall, San Diego State, Western Kentucky, Toledo, etc. Why not? Because they are all average teams. They just happen to be playing teams that are even worse than they are.
I like to stick with the BIG BOYS when I do these (for the most part). So this week would look like teams like Penn State, Notre Dame, Iowa, Georgia, Auburn. See the pattern? All big time programs that really can't afford a loss.
Now that doesn't mean this always works (obviously it doesn't). But if I lose, I don't want to lose on something like Marshall against Charlotte. I have been burned too many times over the years in these garbage games, and for whatever reason the favorite just doesn't show up.
At least with the way I do it, I am getting maximum effort from big time programs. And if I lose, then all I lost was my bet. But that school just screwed their whole season up.
Just the way I see it.
I just plugged in that one I mentioned: Notre Dame, Iowa, Penn State, Georgia, Auburn and it said for every 100 you get back 80. It's not quite the payout you had, but I'll take it.
I don't like Michigan because that is a huge rivalry game. Michigan SHOULD win, but it would not shock me at all to see Sparty come out of there with a win.
As for the DOG parlays, I like to put 4 or 5 together and hope for the best. I usually will take 3 or 4 small dogs that I think can win and throw it in with one big one that has a punchers chance.
So for this week I would throw in something like this:
LSU, Duke, Tulsa, Utah, Mich State
Or the first 4 and Southern Miss or WVU or Eastern Mich instead of Sparty. In other words, I take 4 that I really love and a small shot on the 5th.
For a 100 bet many of these can pay out about $20k.
I hit one last year in College hoops. Paid me $30k. But these are tough. I would stick mainly to the favorites method if you want to stay consistent.
Good luck!
