Last 3 years TCU, Washington and Arizona St were pretty big surprises.

As of right now you'd probably have to say Iowa State. They have the talented QB, not sure how good their defense actually is though, but the offense looks awesome. Coming back from Ireland to beat a decent S Dakota St team by 48 was pretty impressive. Maybe USC another team with an impressive looking offense, at least when playing nobody.

Nebraska has the recipe… keep an eye on Auburn, and Louisville

if Iowa state wins the Big 12 and makes some noise with a playoff win… would maybe qualify in my book. Good thread…
A&M, and if the defense finds a way…TCU.

AUBURN!
For an SEC schedule, it pretty good > Georgia and Alabama play on the road vs Auburn
Hugh Freeze has a tradition of getting his team to a great record in Year 2,3 or 4 of a program .....this is YEAR 3 and he has a QB that has the right horses with him unlike what he had w/ the Sooners
Arnold ran for over 140 yds last week.....his passing stats will be that much better if he can use his legs and we know BAMA and GEORGIA hate playing QBs who can run
