Does anyone else feel the vibe this season of things being a bit different? I've only watched college football for two seasons. But for me, this season is very different than last. Further, I hear the broadcasters saying it over and over every game. Sure, they are trying to get ratings up, but they really make it sound like there is some truth to it. Last year, Alabama, OSU, and Clemson were a lock from game 1. Georgia was ranked 5 the whole season, it felt. There was barely one spot available last year in the playoffs. This year, it feels like anyone can make it to the playoffs. Further, they are likely going to expand the playoffs in the future, making recruiting much more important for fringe teams.
But sticking with the "anyone can win it" this year vibe, this means some underdogs need to pull the upsets. And this vibe passes all the way down the ladder. It really feels like any team that is an underdog can win a game this year.
So this is why I've picked 21 underdogs this week and put them all in various combinations of parlays. It feels right this week. It feels like we could see 10 upsets. Vegas is slow to adapt. Betters are slow to adapt. In future weeks and years, the dogs will not get such good odds. Teams are getting closer in talent. Players are transferring and going to what were previously not top contenders.
So I say we take these great odds while we can. Syracuse +540. California +440. Akron +710. Duke +310. TCU +310. Purdue +430. Kentucky +1260. LSU +320. Army +570. Hawaii +470. You don't think two of these teams will win?
Even the small odds are all priced great. Sab Jose St +290. Miami Fl +220. Ohio +270. S. Florida +260. Arizona +250. New Mexico +350. BYU +198. Oklahoma St. +180. Central Mich +172. Kent St. +198. Missouri +265. Auburn +152. UTEP +220. Every single one of these teams beats their opponent in at least one stat. If they play a little better than average, most would beat their opponent. If they win the TO battle, most will beat their opponent.
I put out about 100 parlays between these teams. Sure, they could all miss. And I could be wrong, the underdogs could all lose and favorites have a great week. But the odds are so good, it is worth putting $$$ large $$$ on the dogs for the rest of the season, in my humble opinion.
BOL to all! Hope to popping champagne and not commiserating on Sunday, but I'll stand up tall either way. Anyone with me on the dog parlays? I'll celebrate and commiserate with you. Cheers, Peacemaker
