FYI, prior to last year, when the Huskers manhandled CU, Nebraska had lost its first game against a P5, 7 straight years. And it's not like they were playing powerhouses. They had losses to MN, Illinios, NW, CU a couple times. I'm a huge, lifetime Husker fan, and almost everyone in Lincoln is drinking the Rhuleaid, but I need to see it on the field. They have not won many games on the road, against anyone not named rutgers, in a decade. This is a pseudo home game. I'm sure 85% of the fans will be Huskers. However, I think it's going to be a close game. Defenses are usually ahead of the offenses early on, and it tends to be the team that makes the fewest mistakes that wins the game. I haven't seen the Huskers play many mistake free games in a long long time. I just need to see it first. Until then, I kinda like buying this up to 7.5, and taking Cinci. Cinci faded hard last year, but it's a new year, and I think they'll play tough enough to hang around.
Something to watch: The Huskers brought in a punter from Australia. He can't punt with EITHER foot. It's a lot of rugby style punts. Should be interesting to watch that, if nothing else.
Last year, in my opinion, Raiola held the ball too long. We saw what happened to Shedeur when he did that. SS took alot of sacks trying to hold the ball for a big play. I wish Raiola would just take the check downs and live for another play. When they hold the ball that long, it brings out more yellow holding flags, more sacks, and potentially more strip sacks, which cost them the game against Iowa at the end. There are many times he would have guys open 4 or 5 yards down field, but hold the ball looking for something deeper to materialize. It gets him trouble. I'll be watching to see if he is quick and decisive in his 2nd year. One can hope.
