Seems to me a tad aggressive to be charged a Timeout because your player is too injured to continue…. And ouch talk about a double whammy. Imagine losing your QB and final timeout with a minute left in the game and driving on the same play
I get faking an injury needs to be changed somehow and taking that judgement decision out of the hands of the Refereee is important. Maybe give Teams an extra timeout now? Not sure
What do y’all think?

lane kiffin started the shit at ole miss maybe a 20 sec runoff if its on the offense or a 5 yard auto 1st down on defense
There are plenty of cases where a 20 second run off would benefit an offense. Not a good idea.
I think the timeout is fine personally. Otherwise what else can you do to punish a team? We've all had Charlie horses. It wouldn't stop us from being able to get on one leg and hop off the field.

This is new? Don't they at least have this in the NFL? Injury timeout in the last 2 minutes i think, the team is charged a timeout regardless of which team it is.

So why are you getting hurt in between plays anyway? If hurt on the previous play, assuming the injury is severe - GO DOWN THEN, or even better get your azz off the field. Why are you waiting until the ball is spotted to go "oh crap, gotta cramp".
Funny back in the day ha........
>> somehow, nobody would ever lie down on the field - coaches would say "I better see blood, or a bone sticking out" - guys go down WAY too often now. Anything that reduces this BS is fine with me.....
The impediment to action advances action - what stands in the way becomes the way.

The KEY here - is AFTER THE BALL IS SPOTTED.....

I thought a better rule would be forcing the player to sit a quarter or half, since ya know, they're injured. But then again, coaches could put players in just to fall down. Would be a weird strategy.
I think the rule is fine, the benefit of stopping the nonsense outweighs downside. Again as stated in the last post, why are you all of a sudden injured when the ball is spotted?
