I'm sure the media would love to see Belichik win his debut but this team is rebuilding big time. One of the highest number of transfers. New offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator too.
I just don't think it's easy for any coach even the great hoodie master to organize a bunch of college kids who haven't played together before.
Last season TCU was 15th in 1st quarter points scored and increased it from 7.8 to 11.5 the final 3 games. UNC was ranked 63rd and over the last 3 games went down from 5.5 to 2.3 1st q points.
Are those numbers going to improve for UNC now right away, with all new guys? Maybe. Gio is a good addition but i think it's more likley the frogs get the better start. They have a 2nd year defense coordinator and so they have their scheme set up now it should take a step forward. They have the same QB who was productive, tho they lost their best WR to the NFL.
Over the last 3 games the frogs allowed 0 third quarter points last season. The heels ranked 109th out of 134 teams in 4th quarter points allowed. So they don't finish games strong on defense, they don't really start them strong on offense. TCU is stiff in 3rd quarters.
I just don't see how you turn all that on its head with all new college kids. Even being at home it's just a total revamp situation and it's always best to fade these teams that haven't had any chance to play together and really gel yet which is a huge problem for college ball.
