Tough to glean too much from spring and easy to read too much into things in the scrimmage or based on what the beat writers are reporting, but there's often quite a few big questions on each team we can start answering and other things we want to keep on the radar .. injured guys back, depth at positions, new stars in the making, QB battles are all interesting and alot of that will prob heavily covered and hyped up by the previews for us .. but there are also less hyped changes on off / def that can really be moneymakers in the first couple games as the models adjust off of prior year, think pace of play or run/pass tendency and explosiveness or new defensive looks, etc and these are often accompanied by a new HC or coordinators, but not always .. I'd also emphasize looking for these nuggets on smaller under the radar teams rather than the big boyz who have infinitely more eyeballs and reporters taking notes ..
Big picture thing to keep in mind - Still have that extra year of eligibility so up to 6 recruiting cycles on a team with only 85 scholarships. No surprise the portal is overflowing and not just with sh!t .. roster efficiency and NIL deals are prompting alot of big stars to find new homes this year .. Most every team has more guys xferring out than they are taking on, cream rising, fat getting trimmed .... in this environment coaches at ALL levels either gets more talented, deep and efficient with the roster and improve or they are likely doomed ..
Elite teams better get super elite to have a 0 or 1 loss season because there should be some competition rising up this year .. LY bama lose to A&M but had ALOT of other close calls and the cookie could have crumbled to the tune of 2 or possibly 3 more losses .. how's their WR room looking this year .. super elite? .. gulp ..
On the flip side a team like akron should have access to more talent than they see in 10 recruiting cycles as all the roster sh!t flows downhill .. last stop on the train .. For the zips it just depends if anyone's interested if anyone gets off at their stop or hit the FCS train .. also whether Akron can even do anything with talent they do get ..
Some teams we know to likely be on a big downswing, Nevada, Hawaii, etc and there will be many other surprises in that department, I'd consider teams that went with the small '21 rec classes, lost quality players grad/nfl/portal, already had weak depth and not replacing talent .. plenty like that esp if they 'surprised' last year and may find themselves slipping back with others around them moving forward? .. The Great Infallible Models" will def struggle to figure things out early on so put yer scoutin goggles on and let's get ahead of the curve!
Any-hoo .. drop yer spring intel in here and let's get the goods in one spot brothers .. wooop!

UGA .. I mentioned in one of the others my big question w the DAWGs, can they unlock their BIG potential on offense by developing an elite pass game .. last year they found a super gem in bowers but gilbert lost his mind and WR group seemed young / unhealthy and generally more conservative run favoring play calling .. i think we prob answred the big question we might have the best TE group w Gilbert looking great and even w Bowers / Washington (both out?) they even found anther TE so its 2 elite for sure and maybe 3 or 4 deep .. WR's looked real good too Kieras Jackson and Blaylock both had 2+ really good looking plays and a few others did too it looks really promising .. even RB's got in on it Mcintosh with a big catch, he should be the big catch RB replacing Cook .. the play calling seemed to open the offense up too and #2 QB also def looks like competition for Bennett, both offenses able to look good moving the ball .. Harder to tell what the defense has in store for us, lose alot but even a big step back could leave them at #1 think at worst it'll be a tight race for top defense next year, they didn't get throttled in the portal, Tykee Smith and plenty of other 5 star recruits, just not as worried on that side .. Plenty of DAWG lovers out there to help us get acquainted w the new crop of guys ..
