Someone is going to have to tell me why LSU is going to win this game because I don't see it.  Assuming Tua is okay, the Tide offense this year might be the best they've had this decade.  I know it's the square play but I'm taking Bama -5.5

Opinions?  I'd love to hear from some LSU backers.

Same reason they lost to Clemson. Tua has trouble vs teams Bama is significantly better than on O and D. That's why they shoulda lost to UGA last year, but Saban is obviously a better coach than Kirby Smart.


I'm not predicting Bama to lose, but if Tua is a bit rusty and the deep passes arent working Bama will struggle as their run game is down a notch from previous years. Burrow will stretch the Bama defense much like Lawrence did last year.


Should be a great game!!

Tua not being a 100 percent gives the edge to LSU imo. Tigers can score and Bama will need Tua to keep up but I’m bias???????

Well the offense that LSU is running is the same type of offense that gives Alabama fits- The Bama linebackers can be a liability in coverage this year- LSU should take advantage of that- Bama's defense and running game are not up to their usual standards and while still very good, they do show a few cracks in their armor. LSU's defense has been somewhat of a disappointment this season but part of that is the offense scoring so quickly- I see this being a very good game and one that could go either way- and don't forget that Tua won't be 100% which is not a good thing for them- when he is healthy, there isn't anyone better in my opinion, especially with the receivers he has- good luck with your play!

LSU LB Michael Divinity has left the program.  It was announced a few minutes ago.  Just one more reason to bet Bama.

LSU has the best offense Bama has ever faced and if they have the ball last in a one possession game they will score. 

I do not think LSU can consistently stop Bama from getting in the Red Zone. 
But Alabama has not been great in the Red Zone: 38 trips only 25 TDs and 7 FGs. 32 scores on 38 Red Zone trips against very weak competition. 
LSU defense has allowed only 13 TDs on 23 Red Zone trips including multiple goal line stands against Florida and Texas. 

This is not the dominant Alabama defense that was feared this entire decade. 

Last few top 10 games points against Bama (not all allowed by defense):
UGA 28
OU 34
Clemson 44

I think LSU gets to 31.

I love the over 65 for the game.

I like the Over here... Also not sure I would give Bama a huge edge in defense either; LSU's D appeared to have turned the corner a little bit since some abysmal early showings.

Even though Bama's defense is nowhere near the level we're used to seeing.. They play the exact style of game that gives LSU trouble, they are gonna push those nickels up and play man bump and cover 0 a lot more than any team Burrow has faced.. Even with LSU's vast improvement this year on that side of the ball, it's like everyone just deliberately forgets what happened last year with the same personnels off a bye, or hell the last 10 at this point.. 


LSU secretly relies on the run game on that zone read getting yardage on teams, but this is the only team they cannot do that against which is Bama's forever strength to stop first then force you to spread it around.. Bama has problems against QB's that can run, Burrow does it sometimes, but he ain't running on this style of defense. Bama is gonna completely out coach and out class them again in the end, it will be closer than it usually has been.. But absolutely, no question in my mind Alabama wins this game at home and will get theirs on this LSU D before the reciprocate happens.

Explains my opinion  much better than I.  Hard bet against LSU in a big game due to emotion, but Alabama is a tough match-up.  I am in on Alabama.

Both teams know they need this win for there bid for a playoff spot.. Both teams will establish a running game as much as possible. Take the under here. Also would back LSU in this spot too many points for such a big matchup. This is LSU superbowl so to say.

LSU +7 -115 for me.  Too many points in a tight game, Tau will not be 100%, LSU “super bowl”.

Either way should be a great game.  

Look for live total possibilities.

Totally different teams, situations, etc. Prior results have zero impact on the current game at hand.

I’m not necessarily betting on either side, Mr. Bates, just staying I find it hard to believe someone is 100% off of a surgery in just a couple of weeks. He wasn’t last year in the SEC champ game and when Clemson took them to the woodshed, Bama fans said he wasn’t 100% at that time either, with the same ankle injury, so which is it?
