good luck today! this is gonna be a tough match up and i think hawkeyes roll. their ability to protect the paint is something that illinois hasn't faced yet and can really stun their game plans. this should force illinois to take some outside and unwanted, contested shots, which iowa also does well protecting. i'm not one to blame refs but iowa has a very good set of refs that do favor their home team as well. i just don't think illinois will be able to keep up with iowa's offense or their transition
No team is as good as it looks when winning nor are they as bad as they look when losing

interesting, off topic side note, if you look at the covers contest with who's in first, and look at grendlou's past plays, this guy basically blindly plays every over for the most part of the season. coincidentally he's in first with this strategy

That is interesting that grendlou is leading the contest playing all overs.
Iowa shot 50% & 43.5%, Illinois 41% & 36%. That was the difference, especially Luka with the 3 point bombs. Rebounds and assists pretty even. But I will also say this. Illinois got several second chance points to stay in the game. My view is the ball was just bouncing their way on some of those badly missed shots. Very similar to Wichita St at Tulsa. The Shockers threw up a lot of bricks that went out of bounds or right to a Shocker be it 20 feet away or 10. Once the ball began to finally bounce Tulsa's way they tightened it up at the end. Neither team played well.
I've done really well with Tulsa as a home dog the last few years. That particular ats run is off the charts.
Illinois now gets MD, @ Rutgers, Nebraska, Sparty, and @ Penn St, Well see what they're made of. My knock on the Illini is their outside shooting.
