Bucknell +6.5: First round of the Patriot League tournament with Bucknell travelling to American. American was a nice early season surprise but imploded down the stretch, losing their last 6. Bucknell rebounded after a horrendous start and beat American twice in February - 78-71 on the road and then took the Eagles to the woodshed 73-51 at Buck exactly 2 weeks ago. I will happily take the 6.5 points here and will probably consider a small play on the ML.

Louisville +11.5: Seniors Day at Freedom Hall is no doubt not the gala occasion it once was, but you have to believe the Cardinals will come out with some fight and at the very least not get embarrassed in this one. The cause would be helped if Okorafor can return after missing 3 with an ankle injury. Virginia Tech (6-12) has flopped badly in conference play and also learned this week that veteran guard Darius Maddox is done for the season. They have no chance at a first-round bye in the ACC tourney and will have little motivation to extend themselves in this spot. The Hokies finish with their own Seniors Night Saturday against Florida St but realistically their only hope of playing in the post-season is a reasonably deep run in the conference tourney, as unlikely as that appears.

Bowling Green -3: BG home for Seniors Night in a game they absolutely MUST win to keep their flickering hopes alive of qualifying for the conference tourney. This is obviously a huge leap of faith considering the Falcons have lost 9 straight, the fact Eastern has played a bit better of late, and the fact they too are in the 4-team soup bowl fighting for the right to get obliterated by Toledo in the first round in Cleveland on March 9. With 2 games left, Eastern, Central and Miami are tied at 5-11 and BG is a game back at 4-12. However, BG holds the tiebreaker on those teams, so a win tonight would vault them into the 8 seed ... with some help. BG also clobbered Eastern 91-65 on the road back in the "good old days" on Jan. 3. BG appears to have a tough game to finish at Ohio, but Ohio is already safely locked into a playoff spot with virtually no chance of moving up in the standings. So this is doable for the Falcons - but it must start with a win tonight.

Miami-Ohio +1.5: Gonna hold my nose and fly with the Redhawks as they travel to W. Michigan. Miami is in the aforementioned battle for the last berth to the MAC tournament, while Western is out of the picture at 3-13 after losing 11 of their last 12 games. Miami won the first meeting 85-78 at home on Feb. 7 and are on a mission with 3 straight wins, including blitzing Ohio 85-78 on Friday. Also worth noting that W. Michigan's last game is also at home against C. Michigan so the Seniors Night factor shouldn't play into it. Miami absolutely has to have this one as they finish on the road in Buffalo.

Queen's U of Charlotte +7.5: They won the first round game over FGCU Monday (at Kennesaw) despite an off shooting night. I think they get it going with more familiarity of the gym tonight at Kennesaw. Kennesaw will have the edge on the glass for sure, but Queen's will spread it out and hopefully have a better night shooting. An outright win wouldn't be a total shock since they just won 83-76 at Kennesaw less than 2 weeks ago, but think they can at least get the cover. Plus I am sure they learned more about breaking down good defences by playing Liberty B2B to finish the regular season. Feel much better about this with Badlands making it one of his large plays.
Loyola Maryland, Wright St and Vermont came close to making the cut but finally decided to pass.

It is with great sadness that Queen's fell by 1 point to Kennesaw, ending their season. They did a fabulous job stepping up from Div 2, played an entertaining brand of ball and probably made me more money than any other team this season. They were an automatic "over" bet for weeks.
