7-3 yesterday. Purdue and Iowa scored 101 points in the second half, after posting 59 in the first. Pretty incredible stuff.
Buffalo +4.5
Kent St has a great thing going on this year, but when they hit the road, the offense seems to get left behind. They score 10 points per game less on the road, and they will need all the points they can get against a Buffalo team that just put 100 on EMU. Not saying they will replicate that, but it's likely the winner is going to need to get to 70-75, and I like the Bulls to stay within the number and possibly pull the upset.
Rider -4.5
Iona was the universal pick to win the MAAC but Rider sits atop right now by a half game, and needs to win these kinds of games to stay there. Fairfield isn't any good, and they just took you to OT less than two weeks ago, although you still won, you haven't forgot about that yet. Very spirited effort tonight is expected, and this to not be close.
Butler +7
Xavier hits the road for the first time since Freemantle went down. And it happens to be at Hinkle Fieldhouse. You better believe a Friday night in that place, with the top team in the conference in town, the people will show out. Still don't know if Chucky Harris is gonna play, which is a little unnerving, but Xavier has dropped 2 of their last 3 on the road, with one being @ DePaul...ouch.
Ohio +2.5
I'm going to back the better offense on their home floor here. Its a revenge spot, and only the top 8 make the conference tournament, and Ohio is in 6th so they can't afford to not give 100% effort every night from here on out.
Nevada -9.5
Fresno doesn't travel well and Nevada is riding high. This has the makings of a blowout.
Random Thoughts:
Youngstown St looks pretty enticing but with FW coming back home from a 3 game roady, and get the top team in the conference in town, the environment could give the Mastodons the juice they need need for the upset. FW won @ YSU by 5 on new years eve.
Quinnipiac wants to score from beyond the arc, and that is what Niagara defends the best, and doesn't allow many looks. Purple Eagles may have a shot to win this one.
If McCollum and Eley play, Siena steamrolls Mt. St. Marys. Unfortunately, I won't be around at game time so I'm staying off.
Billikens have been a huge disappointment this year, and a lot of it has come on the road. Not gonna bet against them, but it could be profitable for some.
Good luck everyone!
