I ran into a multiple problem many times... I love the sports betting world and everything with it, but kind of like you said, the money was not justifying the stress and work.
Was I really using hours of my day for research and game checking to win just side cash that would go away quickly anyway?
Thats why I keep on taking breaks, but always of course find my way back lolol
So, given that most people aren't profitable and for a high percentage, time and money is just being wasted, then no, sports betting isn't worth it... But just like anything, you have to find what your good at, so if sports betting is your thing, go for it, otherwise doing this daily is something most of us will regret in the future

I've been gambling for a long time, probable 25+ years, it's always been a hobby with money I would have spent on going out to dinner or the movies. I have never spent more than I can afford to lose, like rent or mortgage or whatever. The lure is every gambler inevitably thinks "I could be really good at this, this could be my calling, I have a system, I'm smarter than the other guy", it's all trash. You are a Degen period and realizing that will go a long way. No one is special, no one has the gift. If you have a spare $100 bet it but under no circumstances bet $5,000. My best friend is an engineer from MIT, he says if you engage in activity until you get "caught" the chances of you getting caught are 100%.

all this means is you are betting what you cannot afford to lose so you should lower your bet size. You cant win everyday. you cant win every week. all you can do is try to win slightly more than you lose. Me personally a lost isnt a big deal because Im only risking 1-3% of my bankroll at a time. If you are betting your entire account every day and making parlays then prepare to get stressed out. Gambling doesnt have to be stressful.

don't watch the games, that frees up a lot of time to do other things, make your bet and check the score later
You can't be serious with this...anyone with a decent size wager it is almost impossible to do...Sure if you are betting really small and for fun they sure you can check the results later on. And before you say only bet what you can afford to lose you still want the action of thrill of seeing your team bet on start off fast in a game or if they are down make that comeback....99% of bettors are constantly checking scores or following the game..

It`s definitely not for the feint of heart. Gamblers are inherently competitive so we think we can beat the oddsmakers any given night. Combine that with too much alcohol or ego, or just stupidity, and that can be a recipe for disaster.
I try to limit the number of bets to 2 plays per day, maybe 3 on the weekend, thus reducing how much time I spend capping or researching, as well as reducing the damage if I have a losing day. As for watching the games, I don`t. I do other stuff with the family, watch a movie. go out for dinner. Sure I`ll check the scores during a commercial but it`s not eating up my time like it used to when I started out.

HahA! Been there. I was a degen Action junkie...betting anything just to have action will kill your bankroll. Just bet what you know, or what you are good at. NHL is my bread and butter so 75% of my weekly action is hockey. I sprinkle on NBA but even that is too much of a roller coaster for me so I`ve cut back. MLB my other sport. I`ll bounce back and forth with NHL and MLB when the season starts. If I could give my younger self some advice, I`d tell myself to stop the degen action....that, plus the next 10 Super Bowl and World Series winners.

If you're not watching the games, how do you learn from your mistakes. How do you get better. I started betting on sports in elementary school. I'm in my mid 30's. I put a down payment on a house with sports betting. I have a 100,000 car from sports betting. Sometimes i'll take whole months off of work, and pay the bills with sports betting. Do you know why I can do all this? It's because starting way back then, while in the 5th grade, I started watching games as much as possible. I woke up at 6am every saturday morning to watch College Game day like a kid typically wakes up to watch cartoons. I learned the games. I played, even if just high school. I immersed myself. I never get how you have these guys bet on sports who don't even understand the game. Winning at this stuff isn't hard. Especially college, and especially the regular season.

And mind you, I got all of that wagering in the $500-$5000 range. I've made a $20,000 wager once and $10,000-$12,000 wagers like three or four times.

now....imagine 98% are likely down money on the year??? its a tough one to answer....gambling is in our blood though. i do however feel this to be true. we may take "break"....we all return though... my advice, if your up for the year, try to become even better at capping
