uncessary aging/stress.
i took pelicans live +100 for 2 grand sometime in the 2nd quarter. went on my business and when i came back to check the score, i noticed game was 2 minutes into the overtime. decided to catch the final 2 minutes. everythingw was going smooth and emotions were good and already thinking to myself what a nice win when new orleans got the defensive rebound with 7 seconds left in the game and a 3 point lead. inbound turnever elevates the heart beat and stress slightly but still confident since the lead is by 3 and i expected new orleans will keep fouling until phoenix goes to free throw to lock in the victory. wasn't happy and was mentaill prepping for ot when phoenix got the 3. then the excell timeout technical and heart beat rises and cortisol levels shoots up. feeling of disgust and despair as phoenix takes the lead on tech freethrows and gets possession and goes on to lose.
the funny thing is that the 2 grand bet is a normal bet for me and if i didn't tune into that game it would have been a stress free loss and i would have moved on to the next. but watching that final 3 minutes of of that game simply stressed me out like crazy and completely turned my mood.
the amount here is not relevant. even if it was a $5 or $10 bet, the feeling would have been somewhat similar...that miserable losing feeling when you lose like that.
be a god gambler and don't watch games you bet. better for future decision making and overall health.
