One of the wizards of the game and a class act gentleman.
I remember as a kid the Giants had tv commercial where Robinson goes to the mound to pull a pitcher, and Crazy Crab shows up, asking Robby if he could go into the game....
Now, you have to understand that Crazy Crab was like an anti-mascot. Because real Giants fans realized how stupid a mascot is, so whenever he showed up, people would boo the crap outta him. And throwing things, like beer bottles, was not uncommon.
Playing up to Robinson's gruff nature, he looks at The Crab, and goes
"GET THE HECK OFF MY MOUND!" I'm sure he wouldn't have minded using even more colorful language...won a Manager Of The Year title with the Giants, having grown up in Oakland. He will be missed.

''Today is a very sad day because I lost not only my teammate, but also a very dear friend. I loved Frank and got to know him so much better after we both retired. I spoke to him a few days ago and he sounded good. He wanted to be home. ... As a player, I put Frank in a class with Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, and Mickey Mantle. He was the best player I ever played with. When he came here in 1966, he put us over the top. He was a great man and he will be deeply missed.'' Brooks Robinson

Born and raised in Baltimore 60's and 70's...here was a man who always came through, lest you forget, one of the biggest WS upsets in 1966, a 4-0 sweep vs the big, bad Koufax Dodgers...wonder what the odds were on that? He just was such a solid clean up hitter..and Brooks was the best fielding 3rd baseman ever...took 5 days of Mets luck or they would have won 3/5 WS and been in 4/6..but Frank was like Joe Montana...he always showed up
PS. was at game 2 of that "69 Series and Game 1 of the 71 Series and Clemente was unreal...tremendous 5 tool player..no one like him and Mays since
