A lot of people will say, "Get over it. You win some and lose some. Don't cry over your loss. Take it like a grown man." I agree with you. If the ref's hand was frozen, so he could not get the flag out for a few seconds, it's too bad. Rule should be changed to invalidate this kind of late flags, and the refs who throw them should be banned from the game for life. The league won't do it for obvious reasons.

I indulged your theory in so far as to rewatch that play myself.
Actually you are wrong.
Watch again, you can clearly see the line judge , on his near side right down the line of scrimmage from Dee Ford, throw the penalty sky high at the very start of the play.
The laundry even hits the ground before the ball hits gronks hands.

Hey Einstein. This IS NOT a pre-snap penalty. Those are "line movements, false starts, etc. The ball HAD TO BE SNAPPED for this to became a penalty. HE'S NOT OFFSIDES UNTIL AFTER THE SNAP. That's how a QB knows he has a "FREE PLAY". You hear those words spoken by the announcer every game. The Chiefs got ripped-off the whole game by PHANTOM penalties, but this one was LEGIT. Again, he's not offsides until AFTER THE BALL WAS SNAPPED. WOW. Real smart people on this website. So explain to me your theory which is. How is he OFFSIDE before the ball is snapped?

And one more little tidbit for all you so-called football guru's. A "lined up in the neutral zone" penalty is also not a 'PRE-SNAP" penalty. The FREAKING BALL has to be snapped for these type of penalty to be called.

Hello!!!! How can someone be offsides before the ball is snapped???? How was DFord offside before the ball was snapped? He was just lined-up offsides. No movements from either side of the line. You said the flag should have been thrown BEFORE THE SNAP. WHY?? C'mon dude, tell me how. You called me a toolbag. Back it up.

Look i despise New England with a passion but i watched the replay the ref throws the flag just after the ball is snapped.I will try to turn this thread around a bit . What do you guys think. The ref is right by the NE bench , do you think they hadanything to do by lets say pointing it out to him or getting his attention to it? Also do you guys think Brady knew he had a free play or he was unaware of the flag?

Yeah it was a stupid play by a stupid player
Free plays happen when the player doesn't have access to qb. In this case there was no chance of him getting to the qb from the false start.
KC had multiple chances to win the game.

Yeah you're right, it wasn't a false start it was pre-snap/offsides.
I guess in my mind I don't care about the jargon'/5 yards but yeah, your'e 100% correct.
