Much respect to the guys that have control.
Winning or losing doesn’t matter in the long run.
Not participating and experiencing the emotions of gambling is worse than losing.
There are a lot of experienced people who have been on this forum for a long time. Just read their posts and follow their money management practises.
Quitting is hiding. Not resolving the issue.

There is a particular longtime Covers member who hates when I post multiple times in short periods of time. However things do not come to me at once and it doesn’t bother me.
Let me add:
”I think therefore I am”.

Take it from me. I've thrown in $280, $125 and $120 on 3 different occasions this year. Thought about stopping for awhile because I lost the $125 in 4 days. I went back and evaluated what I did wrong, obviously you're not gonna win every bet but my problem was I was betting too much on a cold streak which included Utah -4 when they lost by 50 at Dallas. I stick to straight bets, limit myself to 1-2 games a day, maybe 3 occasionally depending on if I see plays I really like and now, i'm at $229 with $12 at risk for tonight. I'm up 120 units from where I started midway through November with NBA, CBB, and NHL and I have confidence and belief in myself that if I stick to my game plan and try to win units, not money, then my bankroll will get to the point where i'll eventually be able to bet lots and fulfill my dream of doing this for a living. I plan on reinvesting over $1000 at some point in 2019 once all my debts are paid off but until then, i'm gonna keep grinding and winning but do it with units instead of throwing $30-50 on games which would hurt if I lost. I've learned from my mistakes but I have to keep doing it. If you're serious about it, treat it like a business, not a recreational hobby.

If you can't practice sound money management, you shouldn't be gambling.
I treat this as investments. I pull initial investments and profits. If the market is going south (losing streak), I stop or pull all my capital.
Don't be a gambler, be a sports investor. Or don't play with anything you care about, because will likely lose.

Yeah i get reckless and bet like a few thousand a game when I can afford it and get on tilt. Just interferes with family life and cause much trouble and stress for me. Im impulsive and have that chase mentality or I can't sleep. Been doing this since 1998 on and off. Haven't gambled in a year and finally see my savings go up rather than down lol. I miss it dearly...focus on fantasy sports now for money so i stay grounded. Actually profit from that which works.
I would love to go bowling this college season...best time of year but not happening.
