Let it be known i've been a Rams hater this year since free agency started and went against them the first 3 weeks of the season but got killed as a result. This time i will give them the benefit of the doubt and be on their side tonight, yes even without Talib and possibly Peters...
This would be a great opportunity for Rams to legitimize their 3-0 start against a playoff contending Vikings team. Raiders? Cardinals? Chargers? Yes, the Rams have played nobodies so far but the scary part is you get the feeling the Rams havent played up to their full potential and yet are still dispatching these teams with relative ease. With the changes they've made in their personnel, especially on defense you expected growing pains.. but they are adjusting quicker than expected.
Then you have the Vikings, who basically have the same team as last season minus the quarterback change. except for the first week, the Vikings seem to have a little more trouble adjusting than the Rams are. the Vikings did play a slightly tougher schedule but you can make a case that they didnt really play anybody either until tonight.
Anyway, that is the past. we are talking about the game tonight. I believe that both Rams starting corners being out will be a non factor for this game as they will be playing at home and their opponent wont have as much time to gameplan Rams personnel deficiencies being a short week but the loss of Talib and Peters may affect them and wont be felt until they start their 3 game roadtrip after this week. Rams will want to flex their defensive depth and prove their secondary can play without their two stars. Sam Shields is a capable veteran corner and was also a nice lowkey free agent pickup by the Rams. Sure, the Rams may have a potential problem in their secondary tonight but i think the bigger problem here should be the focus of the Vikings O-line..
Kirk Cousins has been sacked 9 times this season thats about the 10th most allowed in the league. in the last game against Bills, the Vikes allowed 32 pressures on 60 dropbacks. Vikings O-line has dealt with injuries. Nick Easton was their starting guard and he's out for the year. Riley Reiff didnt have a good game against Bills he was playing banged up and is doubtful to play. Pat Eflien returned last week for limited snaps but is starting tonight. Keep in mind, he and Cousins havent really played meaningful snaps together and they'll be going into a hostile environment. Eflien was out for all of training camp and preseason. Mike Remmers had a surprisingly decent season last year but is only as good as the talent around him. remember him? Von Miller ate Remmers for lunch in the Super Bowl. the Vikings O-line depth is really pressed for help right now and arent a cohesive unit due to the injuries.

the Rams D-line only has a suprisingly paltry 4 sacks this season but they are still a force up front because they generate pressure with Donald, Suh, Brockers. Rams defense will go up against possibly the worst O-line they will have faced all year. I am expecting Aaron Donald to get his 1st sack of the season tonight. When you pressure Kirk Cousins that usually leads to interceptions...
I don't know how anyone can back Cousins in primetime and on Thursdays. Cousins is 1-4 SU, 2-3 ATS on TNF and 4-10 SU, 5-9 ATS in night games. Sometimes the record says what it says you are. If the Vikings cover or somehow win this game it'll be Mike Zimmer giving his team an earful and getting his team prepared to play. He is usually a good coach in dog situations: 8-12 SU, 13-7 ATS as road dog but he isn't the one that will determine the outcome of this game, it will be Cousins.
I don't want to doubt a Wade Phillips led defense that is shorthanded. Next man up as they say. Rams by 10.

DK you and others talk about rams facing no one yet and what have the vikings faced NO FUGGING BODY barely got by 49ers @ home who won a total of 5 games last year TIED with loser packers got destroyed by Bills front 4 blown out at home 27-6 as a 17 point home favorite
there is two teams on the field and IMHO the vikings are not a superbowl contender
already said it. i said Vikings schedule slightly harder but not by much....
