Just wanted to start a thread and see what type of out-of-whack predictions posters can come up with. I'm gunna start by saying both number 1 Seeds won't make it out of the 2nd round. I think The Jets will knock off the Preds (it's a joke that this is a potential 2nd round matchup.)and I think Tampa will be gunned down by either team that advances. I also like Columbus as a dark horse to come out of the East and I will most likely be taking Jets futures to win the cup and the Sharks as a really nice dark horse (even though they have a brutal road to the cup). What do you guys got??

I like that. I thought about possibly taking the Devils for the series, but might just play the high Moneylines that Tampa will get on home ice. I can definitely see this going 7 and Kinkaid has been a pleasant surprise for them. Also doesn't hurt that they are 3-0 against Tampa this year. Only thing that orries me is they have very little playoff experience and Tampa has quite a bit

they get New Jersey and for what it's worth the Devils swept the regular season 3-0. 10/17 @ Devils 5-4 (SO), 2/17 @ Lightning 4-3 and 3/24 @ Devils 2-1. Devils series +260 looks pretty "fat"

Yup. Columbus is head and shoulders above the Pens on defense and goaltending. If their offense can produce like it has shown it can over the last 2 months then I see no reason why they can't. Trends have to be broken at some point, and I'm a firm believer that the Pens aren't making a deep run this year. Pens goaltending is a real issue that shouldn't be ignored just because they won back to back titles. I respect the team but they got 2 cups with very solid goaltending and good defense. You can't claim either with this year's team.

And this is only possible if the Jackets can get past the Caps of course. That will be a good series but they will need to make me a believer before I take them seriously in the playoffs. Maybe Grubauer can make the difference for them. If Trotz starts Holtby, I really like my chances.

This isn't meant to sound rude but how can you claim the Jackets as your darkhorse to win the East and then say the Capitals "need to make me a believer before I take them seriously in the playoffs" ? You are aware the Jackets have won 3 playoff GAMES in their entire existence ...

You're not rude, it's a valid question for sure. After watching the Caps choke all these years with stacked teams, I truly believe that there is some bad mojo with that organization come playoff time. Once these types of things happen over and over again, that shyt hangs over a team and the pressure builds each and every year that passes. If Columbus can get past the Caps that can give this team some real confidence/momentum going into a potential series with the Pens (if the Pens advance). Bobrovski has been the most consistent goalie in the East, they have a very good defense (Torterella is a defensive minded coach) and their offense has been on fire. The East is wide open in my opinion and the only teams that have a lot of playoff experience (if they advance past the Caps) is the Pens, Bruins, and Tampa and I think all of them have holes. If Columbus gets on a roll and their offense plays like they have been over the last couple of months why not them? A lot has to go right but I think there is a road for them if the dominoes fall in the right places

Everyone is jumping on the jackets bandwagon and dont understand the reasoning? Seriously, give me one advantage the jackets have over the caps? More shots on net? The CAPS are one of the best teams in the east down the middle. Two great netminders, game changer in ovi and kuzy. Blue line is overlooked...take a look at the #'s since the additon of kemp and Jerabek add's. Anything can happen come playoff time, but in my opinion, you will be following suit with the crying of Tortorella if you take the jackets in this series. BOL

Jackets much faster than last year with Panarin and Dubois plus they may get a little spark from not having to face the Pens again. It will be a good series
