Event: Denis Kudla vs James Duckworth Time: 14.00 ET Pick: Denis Kudla to win Odds: -150 Stake: 1 unit Returns: 1.66 units
Should be a tight match but I fancy Kudla to take this one. The 22 year old is showing some good form on this american hard-court swing and I think it will continue today against the flaky aussie. Best of luck to everyone!

Isner pick disappointing but the Kudla pick sailing in for a small profit +0.16 unit for today. 2-1 so far with my picks hopefully keep the ball rolling into the rogers cup next week.

Event: Jerzy Janowicz vs Ivo Karlovic Time: Second match on court after 12.30 ET Pick: Karlovic to win 2-0 Odds: +137.50 Stake: 1 unit Return: 2.37 units
Janowicz is too unpredictable and will struggle with Ivo's consistency of serve. Janowicz lost in straights to another big server, John Isner in the Hopman Cup earlier this year. Will more than likely see at least one tiebreaker but Jerzy's double fault tally and lack of consistency will tell. Ivo in 2 here. Best of luck everyone

Thanks for the support guys ?? Ivo gave me a mini heart attack in that tiebreak let 4 match points slip and janowicz hadn't lost a service point in the first 6 games of the second set.

Pospisil holds a 6-4 record here in Montreal, reaching the semi finals 2 years ago. Bowed out to Richard Gasquet in the first round last year (7-5 7-5) in a tightly contested affair. This was the first time he failed to get past the first round and has previously beaten Andreas Seppi and John Isner at the same stage in 2013/2012.
Lu has a 3-6 record here, losing in the opening round on 4 of 6 occasions. These 2 clashed in Atlanta a couple of weeks ago, Vasek coming through 6-4 6-7(3) 6-4. Temperature in Montreal is expected to be around 73 degrees at it's highest so this should suit Pospisil.
Total games is set at over/under 22.5 and it's worth noting 60% of Vasek's games here have gone over while 77% of Lu's have exceeded the total as well. As much as I like those stats I believe Vasek can take this in straights today in front of the home crowd.

Rosol comes into this one on the back of a big win against Kevin Anderson, 7-6 7-6. He owns a 2-0 record against Gulbis, one of these wins coming on hard court. Gulbis came through a 2 hour battle against Dominic Thiem, who hadn't played a hard court match since March 25th. I think Rosol will be able to punish the gulbis 2nd serve, he only won 43% of points on it against Thiem, 47% against Mahut in the final qualifying match and 43% against Rola in the first qualifying round. Rosol to win here.

Pospisil comes into this one on the back of a solid win against Yen-Hsun Lu, 6-4 6-3 yesterday. He defeated Isner here 2 years ago and is 2-2 on the head-to-head. Isner is gassed and I don't expect him to win here. He's spent over 10 1/2 hours on court over his last 6 matches, which all have taken place in the last 8 days. He just about got past Benjamin Becker yesterday, winning 77% of first serve points and 48% of second, a drop for Isner given his form in Washington last week. Pospisil to cover the spread at the very least against a jaded Isner.
