https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=427860Dustin Penner has signed a one-year, $2 million contract with the Anaheim Ducks. previously made $3.25 million on a one-year contract with the Kings.
seems like a relatively low price for Penner who has been a top "power forward" in the past BUT never really "clicked" with the Kings and was injured or scratched a lot his last two seasons there. Getzlaf centering Perry and Penner next season for Gabby now that Bobby Ryan has moved on to Ottawa? or will Jakob Silfverberg take that spot?

Ya he has shown his potential in the past esp with the Ducks. probably another "big body with skills" the Penguins Ray Shero should have looked at. still DON'T have that "banger" that can stand in front and knock home rebounds on the power play like a Thomas Holmstrom used to do for Detroit. haven't had that since Gary Roberts retired

DP would have been a great fit, while his consistency comes up a lot it wouldn't be like Pittsburgh needs him to be an all-star. They just need his body, while Ryan Smythe has a descent net presence we need someone who can't be cleared out. (man, imagine Dustus in front of the net on the Penguins PP) Tomas Fleischman would look damn good in a Pens jersey, good net presence with a knack for offense. How's FLOUR still in a Pens jersey? There's still time until October...THERE'S STILL TIME PEOPLE....

Capitals Joel Ward was on my "big body with skills" list when he was available from the Predators. $3.0 million. Tomas Fleischmann @ $2.6 million would work too.
as for Flower. I think he knows he better be ready next season. fortunately the Pens still have TV as a fall back. either Hartzell or Zatkoff (sp?) should be ready near future. Flower fails next season's playoffs, I think that would be IT for him

Well.. If Flour and the Pens get back to the cup it would probably cement the majority of his career with Pitt. (booooooo) while if he blows it again, let's hope he's gone before the tears dry. I thought they should've traded him while his name had some value. Can't wait for October.....
