^BS. 80% of all vehicular deaths are NOT alcohol-related. The numbers are puffed up beyond belief--for instance, if a sober driver kills a drunk pedestrian or a guy has a couple of belts then runs his car engine in his garage to kill himself, the government racks it up as 'alcohol-related' so the stats look as if the DRIVERS were impaired.
Much more representative numbers are those for tickets issued for accidents, of which only 10% involve ticketing for DUI.
It IS mostly about $$$. The government and some self-serving 'non-profits' have greatly benefitted from the continual lowering of the limit over the years. Victim public testimonials and testifying and political pandering have totally obfuscated the facts, such as that the average DUI arrest is for a BAC of .15-.20. Only 3% of DUI arrests are for .08-.10.
The government bloated bureaucracies and the MADD groups rake in hundreds of millions of dollars annually--that's the REAL tragedy.

The fine, bein thrown in the hole for a little bit...losing the license....
trust me...it got my attention....
I won't ever be getting behind the wheel again if I have had anything to drink.....opened my eyes on what "could" have happened.....and just glad none of that did....
and I will be honest...it took getting nabbed to make me feel this way......
and I feel bad that it did take getting caught to open my eyes.

When I was arrested my license was taken and I was given a pink temporary 30 day license...that ends on Sunday....starting sunday I am suspended for 30 days hard...no chance to get a restricted during this time......
after 30 days I can apply for a restricted for the next 3 months that would allow me to get to and from work or go to the dui classes

I already went to court on Monday....with a lawyer.....and here is what I accepted with a guilty plea.....
48 hours jail.....they gave me credit for 24 hours when I was arrested and spent 12 hours in jail.....I can do work project for one day (8 hours) instead of doing the other 24 hours in jail and I opted for that and am doing that next weekend...the cost for that is 120.00
3 years informal probation which includes I can't have any measureable amount of alcohol in my system when driving...
3 month alcohol class.....cost of 600 plus
and a fine of 2780.00
Court did not suspend my license on top of what it already is from the DMV....30 days of no driving that starts on Monday.....with the next 3 months after that with a option to get a restricted license
