first let me say, i follow the saints closely living 35 miles out of the city, so i dont usually venture an opinion on them, and when i do....i try to be objective. i was on the saints the first game when they knocked the falcons from the ranks of the unbeatens. i will be on them again tomorrow night, bought the hook already for + 4 and have them in two 6 1/2 pt teasers at + 10. reasoning or handicapping points... first matt ryan has enjoyed spectacular success at the georgia dome, but vs the black and gold, he is 2-6 in his career, and one of the wins came in 2010 at new orleans in OT when the saints missed an easy FG that would have ended OT and made ryan 1-7, but gave the falcons the ball and they didnt miss..... back to this season.. in the first meeting the saints won 31-27 in spite of ryan throwing for over 400 yards, but the saints gashed the falcons for 148 on the ground, and held the falcons to 2 critical FGs, one from the 3 yd line, saving the saints defense 8 pts. after starting the season with 3 straight ATS losses, the saints are 6-2 ATS their last 8, and at home the falcons have won 2 games by 6, and other games by 2, 3 and 4. their last 30 road games going back to the 2009 season, the saints are 20-10 SU, and they are 8-2 ATS the month of nov the last 3 seasons. the saints traveling to atlanta on a short week shouldnt be that much of a problem for them since they know this team so well. pierre thomas only got 1 carry against the 49ers and i expect him to see more action against the falcons, and he will be fresh. the saints spread the carries with all their backs so fatigue shouldnt be a factor. the falcons are 5-1 ATS in games where the line involves a short number, but i have to think that 2-6 record against new orleans is in ryan's head to some degree, and tomorrow the saints have a good chance to cover and possibly win. i am already down on the saints + 4, buying the hook, and tomorrow i will see what i will put on the ML.. GL to all.

I will tell you one thing, the falcons were missing perhaps their best defensive player in weatherspoon the first game. (I know the saints were missing sproles). What I'm trying to say is that the Saints are not gonna run all over the Falcons like in the first game. If they win, it will be through the air.
The Falcons also missed a million tackles the first game. I expect for them to be up more and focused for this revenge game. They also had a lot of trouble with red zone conversion the first game. They are trying some new things, and I fully expect them to bring out some new goal line plays they haven't used before.
Personally I think the Falcons win by double digits, but I'm a Falcons homer (if you couldn't tell already)

I agree getting witherspoon back is big for run defense but its the saints passing offense that is scarier than there rushing offense.Id rather be missing witherspoon and force the saints to run then to be going into the game with a banged up dunta robinson and maybe not having asante samuel too.

The Saints loss to a novice QB last week, and I have to believe will not have as much "luck" dealing with Mattie Ice this go 'round, as they have in the recent past. Also, no way, the Dirty Birds let the sAints come into their house (once again) and beat them tonight. They're out to prove 10-1 is no fluke, and I think they win this game handily, and put an end to their rival's season. But GL!

Just an observation from a homer..... The Falcons players are taking this game very seriously. I don't remember the last time Falcons players have been this focused on a game. This game probably has zero effect on Atlanta getting into the playoffs, This game is about pride. All week the radio talk shows have had Falcon players on and they are not talking trash..... but they are saying that just are just damn tired of losing to the Saints. They are know that if they lose this game that all of the talking heads on all the NFL talk shows will be saying "Falcons will be one and out".... They are tired of getting no respect with a 10-1 record..... This is a national tv audience and a platform for them to earn some respect. NFL players take that stuff seriously....

not only do the falcons have to win the game, they have to win it by 4 to bring home the money....not sure they get that done. thanks for everyones perspective, especially the atlanta backers. big dog, i am very aware of all those things you mentioned. both these defenses suck, and the falcons havent won convincingly over anyone at home yet this season. i concede, maybe tonight they do...but until matt ryan PROVES he can beat the saints and drew brees, and not just once in a while, i will take the saints anytime they get pts and i dont care where the game is played. i have matt ryan on my fantasy team, so i hope he throws for 400 yds again and loses!!! d* my man, thanks for everything thx for your wishes of good luck cap... gentlemen, it will be a great game...
