Almost forgot about Al Michaels statement at the end of the game, what a degenerate
LOL, I thought Al was speaking directly to me and rubbing my nose in it...
I so wanted Atl to get one last 1st down. 2nd and 5, I thought the chance was pretty good but then they wasted that down on a pass...
Then, the run on 3rd and 5 pretty much had no chance.
I had visions of a couple of 2-3 yard runs on 2nd and 3rd downs to get the the 1st, and then a couple of kneel downs to end it.
Oh well.
Completely agree with your comments regarding Dallas coaching. Garret is a moron. He just keeps proving it over and over. They had a great opportunity to go for it on a 4th and 1. They tried to create an offside (so obvious these days, little chance to work), and then called time out and punted. I would definitely have gone for it. Also, they tried to kick a long field goal when I would have punted to pin Atl deep. They got a stop but because of the change in field position created by the missed FG, they wound up getting the ball back on something like their own 3 yard line. Nice job Garret-MORON! That play-calling was sooo conservative, it was making me sick. You've got a gun-slinger like Romo but then you keep him handcuffed with shit play calling until it's all but too late???
GRRRR
Dallas is proof positive how bad coaching can turn a super-talented team into losers, at least that's my opinion.
Aside from that, I think Atl was the recipient of this week's "horse shoe up the arse" award. The ball kept bouncing their way. Prime example was the Ware smash on Ryan where the ball pops loose. 9 times out of 10 in that situation, the ball flies backwards, losing big yardage with the additional opportunity for a Dal recovery, setting up a short field and likely score. Instead, the ball flies FORWARD (how the heck did that happen???) and Atl recovers for an easy 3rd and 2. ARGH!
My comment regarding NYG is that you have to consider what an EFFed up week they had to have, with Sandy providing very unusual circumstances regarding their routine of regular practice. People made a huge deal of Pitt not sleeping in a NY hotel Sat Nt and instead, sleeping in their own beds with a one hour flight on Sunday. The NY Sandy aftermath was a much bigger deal and a huge disruption to NYG's regular routine. I think they were very out of sorts for the Pit game.
Anyway, I think they bounce back on the road at Cincy this week.
I think the line is lower than it should be (only -4?) likely in reaction to this last home loss. I don't see Cin competing in this game vs a pissed off NYG team off a loss.
Had a great week 9, looking forward to keeping it going and comparing thoughts for week 10.
