My point in the beginning was to say that buying points is not worth it...except in these EXTREME cases where these circumstances are present...
But, originally I was just agreeing with the premise of not doing it...

from what i h ave seen vegas is good at making the lines for cbball so sometimes have to cough few bucks just have a peice of mind casue in basketball game pace and points scores and teams going on runs can happen at any given seconds ...buying points works good on over unders also how many totals have been dead on or 1-2 free throws over that extra depseration three with fall out more times then goes in and those three points helps

Actually now that I think about it...I would rather have the (-110) to buy the hook...
There are books that offer (-105) pinnacle being an example...I don't know what they offer to buy a pt though but I would think it would be (-115) ....
Wouldn't (-110) for buying a pt be the same as (+100) at the original line...if so I would change my answer and take the (-110)...

Mathematically speaking...I would take the .1 and buy the point...
Handicapping...I would probably stick with the .05 original bet just because if I like something a (1/2) point isn't going to change my mind...
