I don't know if any players had signed with Memphis or if they only made a verbal agreement, but if a player agrees to play for a school and the coach is either fired or decides to transfer, some agreements have clauses allowing players to get out of the commitment if the coach who recruited the player is no longer in the picture. Most players have the choice to stay with the school or go elsewhere. When Billy Gillispie was fired and Calipari replaced him at Kentucky, Xavier Henry, who originally agreed to play for Memphis, decided to go to Kansas instead. Cousins did the same thing, only he chose to go to Kentucky. To my knowledge, John Wall hadn't made a commitment anywhere when Calipari accepted the job at Kentucky. |

What really bothers me is when fans of any team act so obnoxious that it gives the whole fan base a black eye...and it is difficult to keep liking the team and appreciating their talent because people unfairly define them by a few choice idiots. I think teams should be defined by their talent, not their coaches or their fan bases. I realize every team has their fair share of jerks - my team included. However, I try very hard not to be one of them.

But, personally, I would not be interested in watching a national championship game between Northern Iowa vs. Cornell or St. Marys. People, other than the betting public, who would not find a matchup like this very appealing in my opinion. |

This tournament has been "F"'ed up. I don't want Kansas to lose. I would really like to see them play Kentucky in the championship game....if Ky gets there.

I really don't know what the point of this thread was. But, Kentucky fans appreciate everyone who continues to stir the pot. It motivates the team that much more.

I think you're right. The money line also went from +110 to -102 at Diamond Sportsbook.

They could make a deep run in the tourney. Hope it works for you because I would like to see Ky hitting on all cylinders!!! If the Cats are aware of the insulting comment Bruce Pearl made about them after Tennessee played LSU ("we looked like Kentucky out there trying to make three pointers"), added to Scotty Hopson's imitation of the "John Wall dance" that is all over the internet, I think the Cats play a great game today. My brother is at the tournament and he says the arena is nothing but a sea of blue. It's strange for Kentucky fans to outnumber Tennessee and Vanderbilt fans in their own home state. Even though Calipari isn't concerned about the SEC tournament, I am sure the fans are. As bad as this sounds, if the arena is filled with Kentucky fans, I think the vendors would be concerned if Kentucky didn't make it to the final round as well. In my opinion, winning this game is very important to the team. I hope the Cats come out swinging. |
