Like Navy as well Dccusa. Looking at the over in that game too, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. V tech seems like the play in the night game, but I have -6 at my book and I think I will lay off.

Big 10 won one of the games you mentioned Dan. Iowa squeaked by Arizona. But no you guys are right.... Big 10 is solid this year.

Ice - Agree with first three points. No doubt OU has been giving handfuls of points to opponents all season, the QB edge goes to Stanford, etc. Giving 21 to Tech and lost by 28?
However, they have been extremely streaky this season. Played Texas close, albeit an ugly game on both sides, but lost by 3. They hung 65 on A&M, I don't care if A&M is mediocre at best, not many teams out there can put up 65. But the week before they were held to 3 by Nebraska, and the week after they get rolled up by Texas Tech 13-41. This team is bipolar, but if the team that can stay within 3 of Texas and hold them to 16 shows up, Stanford will struggle to score. And if the team that puts up 65 shows up, Stanford will struggle to stop them and may not be able to keep up. Now I don't bet on streaky teams, so Stanford will be my play if I elect to play it, I'm just holding up the other side of the argument and showing that Oklahoma is capable of putting together a solid game. Plus, Oklahoma has played in some pretty big bowl games over the last several years, they will be ready for the lights. While in what was arguably Stanford"s biggest game of the year vs. Cal. Rose bowl implications huge rivalry, etc. What happened? Choked I think Stanford ultimately wins a close one, I love to play devil's advocate tho. |

Ice- I agree Stanford probably cover the 9.5 or 10 they are getting, but Oklahoma's run D is stalwart. While I know they have not matched up against a back of Gerhart's caliber, to say Stanford will cake walk with a QB who hasn't started since last year is a bold statement. Curious what makes you so confident they will win.

Pac 10 bowl plays thus far:
Oregon -3.5 - The speed of this offense should be too much for Ohio State. Blount is back and has added a new dimension to this offense, now they can pound out chunks of yardage with a big back. Either way they go (Blount or James) they should be able to pick up first downs with ease. Plus Masoli makes things happen with his feet. Too many weapons. First Rose Bowl since 1995 and haven't won one since 1917. They will be fired up. Oregon State -2 - Even though I think Oregon State will get rowdy in Vegas, they still will dominate this game. As long as they have not written off the season after a tough loss last week that cost them the Rose Bowl, they should control this game from start to finish. BYU struggles against teams with a balanced offense. (Trounced by TCU at home) Oregon State has this, and runs it well with Canfield at the helm distributing to both Rodgers', Adeniji and Halahuni. If the Beaver are alive I think they win by two TDs. |

koko- Only concern with Oregon State for me is that the game is in Vegas, Beaver players might party their faces off, while you know the BYU players will be praying to Joseph Smith. Not going to let it affect my pick, but wouldn't be surprised to see a hazy first quarter out of Oregon State.
The more I have looked into Stanford, the more I start to like them. Pritchard will be the starter and he led the Cardinal to victory last year over USC. Granted he's only thrown 3 passes this year, but he started all of last year and should be ready to go. |

Who wants to watch a rematch from last year anyways? No one but people from Boise who want to avenge last years loss, and I've gotta believe even they would rather see their team take on a Florida than play a rematch. This is poorly executed bowl pairing, simple as that.

Double- thanks for stopping by. I agree with both your comments. Oregon should roll up Ohio State by at least a TD. Ohio State's D has not seen an offensive attack like Oregon yet this year. They can't match Masoli's speed out of the pocket and will get picked apart IMO. Staying away from Stanford unless some new info comes to light.

Thought everyone could benefit from these statistics. I myself will be betting on Oregon and Oregon State and likely Cal this bowl season. Still capping the other Pac-10 games. GL to all
FYI - Andrew Luck is likely out due to finger surgery and will not play in the Sun Bowl against Oklahoma.
Overall Record against Non-conference schools: 21 - 9 Overall Record (bowl-bound teams) against NC: 14 – 4 Overall Record against BCS schools: 8 – 7 Overall Record (bowl-bound teams) against BCS: 6 – 3 CAL – 3-0 (2-0 BCS) Arizona – 2-1 loss at Iowa 27-17 (0-1 BCS) USC – 3-0 (2-0 BCS) UCLA – 3-0 (2-0 BCS) Stanford – 2-1 loss at Wake Forest 17-24 (1-1 BCS) Arizona State – 2-1 loss at Georgia 20-17 (0-1 BCS) Oregon – 2-1 loss at Boise 19-8 (1-0 BCS) Oregon State – 2-1 loss to Cincinnati 28-18 (0-1 BCS) Washington – 1-2 losses to LSU 23-31 and Notre Dame 30-37 (0-2 BCS) Wash State – 1-2 losses at Notre Dame 14-40 and to Hawaii 20-38 (0-1 BCS) Dropped Wash State for the following stats, as they are clearly the outlier at 1-11. Margin of victory in NC games – 18.8 pts Margin of defeat in NC games – 8 pts Margin of victory in BCS games – 11.25 pts Margin of defeat in BCS games – 7.5 pts |

kck- Stanford is scary. Luck is out with surgery to his finger and Whalen and Pritchard have thrown a combined 4 passes this season. I think Okla could roll, but will probably lay off.
