A's are done for the next 2 seasons. Sucks cuz I'm a season ticket holder.

As I'm sure espn will later report, the last 10 NFC champions have all been different. Can the 49ers make it 11?
The last team to buck the trend-yup, the NY Giants.

And a completely ridiculous trend. I can't believe you were ready with this play right after the game and this is what you came up with. Come on, man. TOTALLY One important FACT Mr. PTB, COWGIRLS beat SF in week 2 with a hurt Tony Romo overcoming a 2 TD deficit. G-MEN beat Cowgirls twice And SF "D" doesn't appear to be able to shut down passing games that well either. I would think you would use better judgement and RIDE the hot team plus the points And the OVER 43 appears to be a lock as well as ELI is on fire Just sayin....... I like how its so important that the giants beat the cowboys twice, and the cowboys beat the 49ers...yet u don't mention the 49ers already beat the Giants!!!

The discussion of the NO-SF game is interesting. I'm surprised to see people think the Saints would be favored on the road. As for the game, yes the Saints will be able to throw on the 49ers. However, scoring in the red zone could be problematic for them, thus FG drives. If the 49ers can score TDs instead of FGs on their scoring drives, they will win. 49ers should win TO and starting field position. |

SF's red zone offense has been suspect all year. They continue to create turnovers, dominate on defense, dominate special teams and play the game at their own pace. Last night is a microcosm of their season. So you might think they need to improve their redzone offense (and they might), but the fact remains, they have continued to win week after week with that flaw. It wasn't about gettng breaks or being lucky. It has been that way nearly every week they play.
I agree completely. I've watched every snap and even went to their games in DC and AZ. And it's not just the red zone offense, sometimes the offense in general can be maddening to watch. Their formula has worked more times than not, bottom line |

Why should the Giants have beat the 49ers?

49ers are bound to not cover. Seems like the perfect storm, 49ers win ugly 17-10 or something similar. Could easily see a backdoor cover. I'd tease the 49ers...

Totally agree with u. I'm an A's fan as well, and it was awesome to see the Bay rocking. Hopefully the A's will get this kind of support if they can make a stellar postseason run in the next few years (with likely the same formula, pitching and timely hitting)... |

I still don't buy he was out. If the Yankees guy slid in, he's safe. |

The only way I see the 49ers covering is if they play another bad first half. Now there is no pressure on them in the 2H cuz they are getting dominated. So come the fourth quarter, losing 27-10. Smith finally puts together a good drive when ATL is on cruise control. 27-17. ATL wastes time, SF gets it back with a few minutes to go and scores another meaningless TD in which Smith looks good on the drive. Somehow, they only lose 27-24, cover, and we all say, Wow Alex Smith showed us something in the second half... And thus the story of the 49ers since the second half of last season... |

Most likely yes. I think we will win the division and also think the Pads will squeak into the wild card. I don't think the Braves will get in
we'll see though, I have my fingers crossed lol. It's gonna be a fun ending without a doubt
Giants fans? My Favorite NL team...I'd go to Games 6 and 7 if we make it to the WS. I'd like to see us with the division and get a home series against CIN |

The only thing I know about CAR is the past few years, they lose when they should win and win when they should lose. Toughest team to figure out. I think the Sports Guy would agree |

They had them beat in that game, if it weren't for those 2 redzone turnovers and 1 botched punt on their 15yd line. I don't see the 9ers making the same critical mistakes again this week.
The game actually started to unravel midway through 2nd Q. 49ers had given up like 12 total yards or something ridiculous. 3rd and long, incomplete pass, but they called Clements for holding when his arm was getting held by the receiver. SEA gets first down, momentum, scores, and instead of maybe winning 6-0 at half, Smith then throws a pick afterwards and its 14-7. |
