Hawaii is struggling as a team. They have consistently played under and fared poorly against the spread after the first games of the season. Perhaps Oregon State and Washington were overrated? This game should be +10 for Utah State. Hawaii no longer plays well at home...or anywhere else for that matter.

Still, one has to wonder why so much money is coming in for Hawaii. Is the fix in?

I would bet the farm on Nevada. They've played and beaten much better than Hawaii has this year. Hawaii is down to one banged up quarterback whose only score was a hail mary pass last week. For some reason, Tyler Graham is not mentioned in the injury report. He was the starting quarterback vs Wyoming and broke his foot.
Oh, and SDSU ran all over Hawaii's defense last week as well. Then they lit up the secondary. Did I mention Nick Rolovich, the offensive coordinator for Nevada was fired by Norm Chow two years ago? He seems to coach inspired ball against us. |

Why lose money on a teaser? Just bet the other way. I like the OP's take on it. Iowa State vs TT and Tx are pretty convincing arguments. I haven't seen an Iowa State game this year...has their offense changed much, because they DID beat Baylor last year.

Hawaii has only won one game here in the last ten years, that was in 2007. Hawaii is rotating quarterbacks still...and their defense is (w)holier than pope's underwear.
The over does sound good. |

Why would anyone bet on this game? I can see the lean to CSU, because of the home game and high altitude. However, 2 teams on a streak of bad luck means one has to break the luck streak. Flip a quarter to see which one gets the luck.
Maybe the over might be a better bet? |

Yes, but...
San Diego St ain't no BYU or USC. Is the spread justified? BYU had a good defense. Does SDSU? Take the points. Bet on Hawaii. |

Didn't Utah lose to Utah St.?
The win over BYU throws doubt, but I sense a USC route. |

Is Norm Chow coaching at BYU again? It is a rivalry that we love in Hawaii, but I don't think BYU gives us much thought. Starting qb is either Austin or Graves, but both are still very green. Coach Mack is not good at winning meaningful games. What is the story with BYU's qb? Also, I notice many injuries to BY as well. Are they significant? No play again, for me. |

Points shaving? HA!!! An anonymous letter was dropped off at the school. It has no substance.
Freshman QB Graves took over last week from Senior back-up Shane Austin. Graves threw some nice balls, but looked green as well. He didn't throw any picks, which was a good thing. He did eat a sack on the 2 minute offense that cost us the game. Who knows which Hawaii will show up this year? No play. |

Injury sheet lists linebacker Art Laurel out w/a broken arm for second straight week....but its actually starting offensive lineman Clayton Laurel w/the broken arm. Other starting lineman for Hawaii out: CWM, and Shigematsu, Nothing new.
Moniz broke a leg in the 1rst quarter of the Nevada game. Austin did okay, but threw 3 picks. Also, rb Iosefa fumbled his 1rst ball going for a guaranteed td. Hawaii should have won the Nevada game. Fresno's DC quit last week. 3 games left in the season. What's up with that? Hawaii will win this game. I like that the spread is dropping in favor of Hawaii bettors. |

Hm...I thought the o/u was 61.5?
The under looks like the smart bet here. Hawaii should be playing conservatively with so many offensive weapons missing. |
where you getting that WR info...before I take hawaii which i swore i
never would again....Who the hell is Nevada to be laying 15.5 points?
Who have they beat to lay f'ing 15?
I'm a Hawaii homer. Pollard has been playing injured, and tore a minuscus (?) in his knee. He won't be playing Saturday. He and Clapp are significant injuries, because they have been the most reliable receivers. Hawaii is toying with putting cb Mike Sellers in at wr. (he also receives kickoff returns) They have also pulled redshirt years on Davis and Clay already. Who's next, Cecil Doe? The UH travel list should reveal more concrete evidence of injuries. The Receiver injuries are critical to R&S effectiveness, because the routes are depending on timing and reads by the receivers. The OL maladies may have been exacerbated by a Clayton Laurel injury. The entire OL is new, and they have suffered many significant injuries already...hence the sacks, picks, and forced fumbles. I would wait to lay a homer bet. The line has moved to -16. Factors in Hawaii's favor: Good defense and great running backs. Factors in Nevada's favor: Less injuries, home field, good defense. |

Hawaii receivers out: Bright, Clapp, Pollard, Davis, Clay, Sampson....Not looking good.
OL still a work in progress with multiple injuries to an already inexperienced unit. However, all Hawaii has to do is stop Nevada's run game, right? The rest is up to which Bryant Moniz shows up for Hawaii--the record breaker or the turnover champ. -15 is tempting. |

I don't need to know the spread.
Hawaii and Utah State are unreliable bets this year. Moniz fumbling another ball with his back to the endzone is just ridiculous. Its probably the only time I'll entertain a conspiracy theory. |
