Bowls 5-0 +17

Tuesday...

Zips+23 -120 3 units... I've seen this movie before.... Go to a Bowl but yet stay home, lol, That is like kissing your sister, You don't get anything out of it...“When we got bowl eligible, everyone was excited about that, but we had higher aspirations and goals,” Kiffin said....A source close to the team told The Palm Beach Post that the players were “mostly disappointed” with the news that they’d be staying in Boca Raton for their bowl game. Players were notified of the decision roughly 25 minutes before the official announcement.... I feel it would really suck to have a Great season and stay home for a Bowl... For Akron, This is early Christmas present! Leave Ohio and get to Sunny Florida for a Bowl, Yep They were rewarded well!
That said lets look at the Zips...The Zips did their most exhaustive workouts in Akron last week, primarily because Bowden understands what the bowl experience is. Bowl committees put together a lot of activities for players in the days leading up to the game.

“You can’t ask them to not go to the fish fry or the beach activity,” Bowden said. “We coaches have to demand 100 percent focus for an hour-and-a-half of practice and another hour of film study. The other eight or 10 hours, that’s for the bowl activities. That’s the reward for going.”

The Zips have many players from their Florida Home State (close to 30) And to play a college game near home they will have some support in the Stands...

The Zips’ offense had not been very dynamic in the team’s first nine games of the season, averaging 20.3 points per game. After qb Kato Nelson’s ascension, that number rose to 25.8 points per game, So The Zips are getting better on Offense as the season goes on... FAU is gonna get yards for sure, Akron is great at one thing, getting Turnovers..In a 45-28 loss to Toledo in the MAC Championship Game, for instance, the UA defense produced five turnovers... Bottom line for me is, FAU cannot be all that excited for this game at home against Akron! For Akron, I'm sure they are happy as a can be, 30 players are from Florida, alot of them played against the owls in high school.. I'm sure they will have a chip on their shoulders be the biggest dog in Bowl history... My Book is not giving me a ML on this but I would be tempted, FAU is not Alabama...That FAU defense can be had..

Troy-7(3 units)Troy is banged up some in the secondary,BUT Bowls are won in the trenches...Troy enters Saturday allowing 17.5 points per game, a total that ranks 11th nationally.
Troy averages three sacks per game, which is tied for 12th nationally. Defensive tackle Jamal Stadom has six sacks on the season himself.UNT's offensive line has improved dramatically in pass protection this season, but it did give up NINE sacks in a loss to Florida Atlantic in the Conference USA title game. FAU also featured a talented and athletic defensive line....The Trojans haven't allowed more than 25 points in a game all season....Gotta mention this....C'MON MAN...UNT enters the New Orleans Bowl off a tough outing in the Conference USA championship game. Florida Atlantic beat the Mean Green 41-17 and missed out on a host of scoring chances that could have padded its margin of victory.
John Franklin III dropped the ball just before he crossed the goal line while showboating.

Boise+7(4 units) Couple of things here is Ducks coach left and their best running back is not playing saving himself for the draft... Another issue I have is This pre Christmas Bowl is not quality enough for the Big name school...Boise has to be more interested,Conf. Champs yet 7 point dog to a 7-5 team...Also its players should be chapped that Oregon didn't think enough of any of them to offer a scholarship....Boise will want this more!

Boise ML +225( 2 units)

Marshali+3'(3 units)The Herd has won five bowls in a row, and here’s this nugget: Marshall boasts the nation’s highest winning percentage in all NCAA-sanctioned bowl games, among teams making at least four appearances. The official count is 10-2 for an .833 percentage... Reading up locally the Herd Is really excited for this long distance bowl... Rams not so much...CSU coach Mike Bobo probably summed up the feelings of both teams Friday morning in the bowl’s press conference.

“Yes, this season was a disappointment,” he said. “Our expectations, as far as coaches and players, are as high as anybody’s in the country. We want to be considered one the best teams, year-in and year-out. We did not reach those expectations.

Middle Tenn State +3(3 units)The return of junior quarterback Brent Stockstill. The son of head coach Rick Stockstill, the signal-caller is a three-year starter with 14 touchdowns to just five interceptions in limited action This year...In the six games he has played quarterback, the Blue Raiders are averaging 30 points per game...They were 3-5 after eight games before winning three of their last four to get to the postseason. Middle Tennessee has won with a defense that is top-25 in both yards allowed per play and yards allowed per rush.... This Bowl is typically close...The three previous Camellia Bowls have been decided by a total of 10 points. Ill take the 3...

Redskins+4(-105)3 units... Here is a classic case of reading headlines how great you are...The Raiders are all wraped up in this protest bullshit even going in front of the Whitehouse with some dumb poster...They are more tied up in what Trump said and think they just show up and beat the Redskins...The Raiders are a young team,If they are not focused they will get sloppy with penalties and turnovers....Finally, there is probably 7 times more money being laid on the Raiders tonight....Raiders 5-11 ats away with denver on deck coming off 2 straight wins...gimmie them home hogs..

South Florida-16(bought a half -120) 2 units... I gotta think Illi is much to green for a trip to a NFL stadium playing a top 25 team and on National TV..Pretty big stage for this young team... lllinois has started more true freshmen than any team in the nation...Illinois has played 17 true freshmen, the second-most in the nation ..A total of 30 players, including 17 true freshmen, made their Illini debuts during the first two games of 2017.... Out of 101 total players on the roster there are just nine total seniors, tied for the second-least in FBS – Georgia Southern (8) and Wake Forest (9)..... Out of 101 players on the 2017 roster, 41 are newcomers ... Illinois has used 16 first-time starters in 2017, the second-most in the nation behind Baylor's 18. ...Three lllini true freshmen started on defense in a season opener for the first time since 1980 (3). It was the first time multiple true freshmen started in the season opener... Illinois started four true freshmen on offense against WKU for the first time ever... South Florida is tied for 43rd in scoring offense as they average 36.5 points per game and is 50th in scoring defense as they give up 19.5 points per game....The Fighting Illini enters this game 120th in the FBS in passing offense with 126 yards per game and 90th in rushing offense by averaging 132 yards per contest. Chayce Crouch the Iliinois QB has a qb rating of 32.7 and has been sacked 5 times in 2 games....South Florida is going to smoke this team...

Titans-3(-101) 5 units... 1st off The Raiders are visiting for the 3rd year in a row, They have won here in Tenn. the last two years and were road favorites, Today they are catching 3... They was 1' and -1 favs....the last two years.. winning 17-10 and 24-21... Why are they dogs today? A few reasons, They cant run the ball, Oakland's linebacking corps and secondary are in shambles,That group that gave up the most pass plays over 20 and 40 yards in the NFL in 2016! One preseason game into the 2017 campaign, everything looks the same. Smith can’t cover the Arizona Cardinals’ first, second, or third-string receivers. Amerson gave up a touchdown and someone forgot to cover Cardinals WR Jaron Brown. ...The only Guy back there that is good is Strong safety Karl Joseph...kicker Sebastian Janikowski on injured reserve one day before the team's season begins.the Oakland Raiders have placed kicker Sebastian Janikowski on injured reserve one day before the team's season begins.
Tavecchio is a 27-year-old undrafted kicker out of California. He has spent time with the San Francisco 49ers, Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers' practice squads but has yet to play in a regular-season game. The Raiders are going to regress this year...

What has the Titans done to improve? Defensive MVP: DT Jurrell Casey — Casey is finally getting recognized for his stellar play on the defensive line. Casey made the Pro Bowl for the second straight year, this time on the first ballot rather than as an alternate. Casey had 5 sacks, 8 tackles for loss and 18 QB hits last season to go along with 5 passes defensed...The Titans brought in cornerback Logan Ryan from New England as their big offseason free-agent prize and then used their first-round pick on Adorée Jackson to drastically improve the position. Who gets the No. 3 spot? The Titans like LeShaun Sims and also have veteran Brice McCain, ex-Bear Demontre Hurst and D’Joun Smith.....Titans continuing to get good mileage out of veterans DeMarco Murray and Delanie Walker, while first-rounder Corey Davis and newcomer Eric Decker give the passing game a huge boost. The offensive line returns intact, and should get even better....As Long as Mariota remains healthy they will carve up the Raiders today and will win the AFC south this year...

We already lost Barnett to the NFL on our D-Line, now our next-in-line too? Still, second year under Shoop should yield better numbers on D than last year
Yep no doubt the Vols have some defensive issues coming into tonight, But I think the O will move the ball and I see GT having growing pains with their new guys on offense... I'm pretty confident the Vols leave with a win...

Still, he was pretty terrible for our spring game and Gurantano really needed to learn more about this offense so I hope they've learned how to work with the likes of John Kelly, Ethan Wolf & Juwan Jennings. bol
He made some good reads and throws though in that drill.... I think he has talent...after last Night winning with Freshmen I'm tickled pink to have a Jr. Tonight lol

Vols-3(-105) 3 units.. yes I know about the Vols issues at Linebacker , That said here we have a lot of new guys running this Tech Offense,A offense that requires Chemistry to execute the patented Paul Johnson death march, I don't think in game one that Chemistry is gonna be there,I see Jitters on offense with Tech in a packed dome stadium,Jitters and lack of game Chemistry for the new guys that will have at the end of the night GT -3 in turnovers....The Vols play in front of 100,000 people all the time so I expect them to adapt better tonight... So The Vols got some new guys on offense, But The Qb will be Quinten Dormady, He is a Pocket passer and a pretty cool dude with some playing time in his pocket...Quinten Dormady has played in 10 games during his time as a Tennessee Vol, mostly in relief, throwing for 349 yards and one touchdown. "He walks into a room with his chest out, chin up and has control of the situation. A lot of guys would have transferred if they weren't named the starter in their first couple of years. Quinten Dormady is a guy who stayed, he stayed and waited for his time. He thinks this is his time and I don't disagree with him. I think he will probably be the starting quarterback for Tennessee and I think he's going to do a pretty good job too. I think he's a better athlete than people think he is and I think he's a guy who can make everything throw in the book."  I looked at some clips on this qb, and he is good! The Talent is all Vols! Vols recruiting classes the last few years have averaged around #10, while GT has averaged around #50. ...I'm very comfortable with this pick....GL!

may as well post the other game...

Virginia Tech-5(3 units) VT will have a Strong Defense once again this year,WV on the other hand has 2 healthy players on D returning from last season playing tonight, That alone should make this a 7 point spread so Right now this Morning with the line @ 5 .... time to hop on this as I see this going up later today...The Mountaineers are short on receivers, The Middle of the Offensive line is weak... Then I can always count on Holgerson calling 4-5 plays a game that leaves me scratching my head... I think Tech takes this by at least 7-10 points... If this was on Techs home field I'd call for a blowout...

Texas AM+6(4units) Josh Rosen Josh Rosen Josh Rosen....blah blah blah...All this hype is doing is getting A&M Fired up and relaxing the UCLA players as he is the 2nd coming, get me? He was completing fewer than 60 percent of his passes, and after setting a record for consecutive attempts without an interception in 2015, went down for the season last year with five picks to just 10 touchdowns.... The Offensive line is still offensive!UCLA didn't name its punter until the last week of fall camp. UCLA ranked 91st or worse in four of the five major kicking categories -- 91st in punt return, 106th punt return defense, 108th net punting and 121st kickoff return defense.....I don't know why this line is climbing but it is not justified...I've come to the conclusion Mora is a hyped up failure that cannot get his talent to play up to their expected levels.....A&M is coming and they are bringing a solid defense and Running Game and a guy who can bust one anytime on a punt return in wide receiver Christian Kirk ... The junior had a Southeastern Conference-leading 83 receptions for 928 yards and nine touchdowns last season. He added three touchdowns on punt returns....He is who the media should be talking about, He is the best player on the field tonight... A&M is a September team...
