COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Trayveon Williams and James White each rushed for a touchdown during the second half as No. 9 Texas A&M remained undefeated with a 21-13 win at South Carolina on Saturday.

Texas A&M didn't put the game away until Cullen Gillaspia recovered a fumble on a punt return by the Gamecocks with 3:20 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Held in check in the first half, Williams ran 49 yards for a score on Texas A&M's first possession of the second half to snap a 7-7 tie.

After the Gamecocks cut the deficit to 14-10 late in the third quarter, the Aggies put together a nine-play scoring drive with 11:40 left in the game. White punched it in from 2 yards out for the score.

South Carolina, behind backup quarterback Perry Orth (11 of 18, 138 yards), threatened twice in the final quarter. Elliott Fry connected from 43 yards again to cut Texas A&M's lead to 21-13 with 4:23 to go.

Following the turnover on the punt, Texas A&M's Daniel LaCamera kicked a 35-yard field goal to seal the win.

South Carolina (2-3, 1-3) struck quickly at the start of the game. Running Back A. J. Turner (team-leading 113 yards) took a pitch and turned the corner to go 75 yards for a touchdown just 13 seconds into the contests.

Quarterback Trevor Knight (23 of 40, 206 yards) led the Aggies to an immediate response. Texas A&M needed seven plays to even the game, including Knight's 4-yard touchdown run. He completed all five of his pass attempts on the possession.

The game settled down a bit after those quick scores. LaCamera missed a 44-yard field goal attempt late in the first quarter. Texas A&M (5-0, 3-0) also went for it on fourth-and-5 at the South Carolina 45 in the second period but came up a yard short.

NOTES: The Gamecocks posted points off of a turnover with 3:14 remaining in the third. Darius English forced Knight to fumble, and Chris Moody picked it up and returned the ball 20 yards to the Aggies' 28. South Carolina generated just three yards in three plays and called on Fry, who kicked a 43-yard field goal with 3:14 left in the third period. That cut the Texas A&M lead to 14-10. ... The Gamecocks mounted two drives in the first half, but an interception and a holding penalty ended both.
