Central Florida 34, Temple 14: Justin Holman threw for 336 yards and two touchdowns, and the host Knights scored the game's first 17 points en route to an easy win over the Owls.

William Stanback ran for 94 yards and two scores and Breshad Perriman had seven receptions for 146 yards and a touchdown as Central Florida (5-2, 3-0 American Athletic Conference) won its fifth consecutive game. Shawn Moffitt had field goals of 23 and 19 yards as the Knights controlled the clock, racked up 466 total yards and finished with 27 first downs.

Temple's P.J. Walker, a sophomore quarterback who has cooled from an impressive start, ran into problems versus Central Florida, completing just seven passes for 49 yards in the first half. Jahad Thomas, who had averaged 100.5 yards rushing the past two games, also found the footing tough against the Knights, as he totaled just 27 yards on nine carries en route to a second straight loss for the Owls (4-3, 2-2) after a three-game winning streak.

Holman led five first-half scoring drives, throwing touchdown passes to Perriman and J.J. Worton as Central Florida took a 27-14 lead into the locker room. Rannell Hall and Josh Reese combined for 10 receptions and 132 yards for the Knights, who last lost on Sept. 13 - a 38-10 decision at Missouri.

Ten different Owls caught passes, including John Christopher, who finished with five, but Temple was held to just 10 first downs and just 21:14 time of possession. Samuel Benjamin returned a blocked punt for a touchdown from 6 yards out in the second quarter for the Owls.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Central Florida, which opened with a 26-24 loss to Penn State in Ireland, is now 7-5 all-time against teams from Pennsylvania and is 11-0 in league play since the conference opened up competition last year. … The Owls have allowed 30 or more points in all of their losses this season. … The Knights are 4-0 at home.
