Duke 20, Virginia 13: Thomas Sirk threw a 3-yard scoring pass to David Reeves midway through the final quarter as the host Blue Devils defeated the Cavaliers in ACC play.

Sirk threw a jump-pass to a wide-open Reeves as Duke (6-1, 2-1) pulled ahead with 7:23 to play. Starting quarterback Anthony Boone was 22-of-37 for 176 yards and a touchdown for the Blue Devils.

Matt Johns passed for 306 yards and one touchdown for Virginia (4-3, 2-1). The Cavaliers reached the Duke 35-yard line with 2:18 left but a delay-of-game penalty set them back five yards and Johns’ fourth-down pass was incomplete.

Ross Martin booted a 25-yard field goal early in the third to give the Blue Devils a 13-10 lead before Virginia’s Ian Frye kicked a 30-yarder to tie it with 7:11 left in the quarter. Duke’s go-ahead drive featured a 23-yard keeper by Boone as part of a nine-play, 65-yard possession.

Duke jumped out to a 10-0 lead on Boone’s 1-yard scoring pass to Erich Schneider in the opening quarter and Martin’s 19-yard field goal early in the second. The Cavaliers got on the board with 9:11 left in the second when Johns connected with Khalek Shepherd on a 5-yard scoring toss and Frye kicked a tying 21-yard field goal as the half expired.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Duke WR Jamison Crowder caught eight passes for 99 yards, surpassing Clemson’s Aaron Kelly (232) for third place in ACC history with 238 receptions, as well as becoming the third player in Blue Devils history to top 3,000 career receiving yards (3,068). … Cavaliers WR Miles Gooch had six receptions for a career-best 129 yards. … Blue Devils RB Shaquille Powell rushed for a season-high 68 yards.
