NEW YORK -- Wilmer Flores and Kevin Plawecki each hit two-run homers during a seven-run sixth inning Saturday night by the New York Mets, who snapped a five-game losing streak with an 8-1 win over the Miami Marlins at Citi Field.

Rookie Dominic Smith hit his first Citi Field homer for the Mets (54-67), who benefited from three Miami errors in the sixth inning. The Marlins (59-62) were trying to move within one game of .500 for the first time since April 30.

Marcell Ozuna had three singles, including an RBI in the sixth that broke a scoreless tie, for the Marlins, who equaled a team record by hitting into five double plays. The five double plays induced by the Mets also tied a team mark.

Matt Reynolds, pinch-hitting for winning pitcher Rafael Montero, drew a leadoff walk against Vance Worley (2-3) in the sixth. Reynolds advanced to third on a single by Brandon Nimmo and scored on Asdrubal Cabrera's sacrifice fly.

Yoenis Cespedes followed with a single against Drew Steckenrider and both runners advanced a base on a wild pitch. Both runners scored when Miguel Rojas allowed a hard grounder by Michael Conforto to go between his legs.

Flores followed with a two-run homer and Smith reached on another error by Rojas to set up Plawecki's two-out homer. Reynolds reached on an error by third baseman Derek Dietrich before Nimmo lined out to end the inning.

Montero (2-8) allowed one run, six hits and three walks while striking out five in six innings.

Worley gave up two runs, three hits and two walks while striking out two in 5 1/3 innings.

NOTES: The Mets announced Saturday morning that C Rene Rivera was awarded to the Chicago Cubs on waivers. To replace Rivera and OF Curtis Granderson -- dealt to the Los Angeles Dodgers late Friday night -- the Mets activated LHP Tommy Milone from the 10-day disabled list and recalled C Kevin Plawecki from Triple-A Las Vegas. ... Granderson's grand slam against the New York Yankees on Thursday made him the first player in Mets history to hit a grand slam in his last at-bat with the club. ... The Marlins traded Triple-A RHP Tom Koehler to the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for Class A RHP Osman Gutierrez. ... Marlins manager Don Mattingly said RHP Dan Straily and RHP Jose Urena will start Tuesday's doubleheader at the Philadelphia Phillies.
