Angle, Step outta this guy’s way. He’s doing real work, doesn’t have time for your pedestrian banter. You are outclassed bro, go do your own thing in your own place with your 50 views or so. |

Depends how you want to compare teams. If you compare how dominant they were in their time, then double has good point about 95 huskers who I’ll never forget. But not as much parity then and very hard for any team to dominate like that in this day and age. If you could magically create a game where they played each other, it’s pretty clear to me it would be no contest. Game evolves. Just like in a significant chunk of time, say 20 years, the teams will be bigger, faster, stronger and simply better than today. That just how every craft improves with effort over time. But this was one of the most unstoppable offense I’ve ever seen, right at or near the top |

For all of us on Marquette on Weds, we know how improbable cashing our ticket was mid-2h when Howard went down and it was one of those emotional step up moments for Ewen and Anam that was memorable. They did it with defensive energy too because points were all of a sudden impossible to come by through regulation. If Howard is out today, and it’s priced accordingly though I can’t get confirmation, it certainly seems like an auto let down and regress spot against a still very improved and scrappy DePaul team that has battled to the wire in their losses. Because the truth is that without Howard this is a totally different team, one that is still very good defensively but that will struggle to score. And in an early game today with a rematch with Butler on deck next week, it has the look of a game they will struggle to find a margin in. If anyone happens to read this and knows more on Howard, feel free to share. |

Appreciate your insight, Boom, keep it rolling. Man were we unfortunate though with FSU, that one stings. So much the stronger side yet every little thing that could go wrong seemed to, although some self-induced. But when you force 8 punts, don’t give up an offensive td, and have almost 2/1 yard edge, you should be good at +4. One of the more aggravating games I’ve ever watched and it seems like that always happens at the Sun Bowl. |

Most disgraceful game Ive ever seen. Hawaii has absolutely no business winning this game. I cant believe this shit, fuck it all!
in College Football Lotta complaining out here tonight, would be more of a surprise if there wasn’t though. Bottom line is BYU was prob the better team but you take your loss and move on. My play was BYU 2h -4, I’d make it again and prob win it 60% of time but oh well this was one of the 40...not really a shocker |

Typically you do get a look from the goal line but from what they had and what they showed, there’s no way you can overturn the call. It wasn’t clear at all that he broke the plane of the goal line. I think it was more conclusive that he didn’t, in fact.

This is potentially one of the best championship series matchups ever. Hard to find any flaws with these teams and you don’t often see two teams that combined for 211 wins. Curious if anyone has seen a price yet or has a guess. I think Boston should be 40ish but I’m guessing with Houston’s sweep and as defending champs maybe we even see it close to pick. I’ll be all over the Sox if it’s that. |

Play of the Year and if it doesn't win, I won't post again until Trump is out of Office...
in Penalty Box I think you’re on to something real good here scal. I wish I’d have gotten in at -2 of course and that line was a touch short but the move to 5 is also attributed to the status of Bush. This guy is going to be special this year, we saw glimpses of that in game 1 and I think his dual threat ability is going to give Rutgers fits. I can’t say Ill has turned the corner but they have a playmaker now this year and they are a candidate to turn the corner because they will score in the big 10. But defensively they are challenged yet this week I don’t think they’ll be exposed. Penn st just wore them down and when they lost contact it was an avalanche. But the bye is great for them prior to this winnable game and if you saw the first half vs penn you had to be impressed. They could not have done that last year. I’m seeing good signs coming out of Champagne these days ( and even if we’re wrong about the degree of Illinois’ improvement, it might just be that Rutgers is so bad and uninspired and poorly coached that Illinois can’t help but beat them by a touchdown. |

Not at all a fan of Louisville and even with a home fri night game I think they’ll have a hard time getting up to play this game after pretty devastating late loss to FSU where they played hearts out. Their d has big trouble against the run and they haven’t seen this offense cause haven’t played gt recently. That’s big disadvantage and Im thinking there’s a really good chance gt gets in the 40’s. But I’m not impressed with gt defense as watching the usf game was one of more frustrating 3 hours of my life seeing all those missed tackles. Gt tt over prob is best call but, even though I rarely pl, gt and over might be decent value. Thoughts? |

Love your thread it’s a great read, thx for posting. One game I haven’t seen you mention in here that I’d be curious to get your opinion on is LSU-la tech. I see this being a minimal effort game out of LSU after emotional win last week, prob similar to what they did with se la which was really ugly offensive box score given the opponent. Haven’t watched la tech this year but they were bowl winner who had some real playmakers and they have most of their offensive production back. They’ll be jacked up for this in-state matchup but I don’t think Ed will have his guys in the same mindset. But sometimes even with all that, talent is talent, and the superior team still dominates even if not playing at top level. But as long as they don’t get blown off line of scrimmage, and that’s a big supposition, I think la tech can be competitive into the 4th qtr. Thoughts? |

thx for the article. Interesting though that the public sure isn't betting the game as if they are resting anyone |

Thx for all the insight, van and others. Like many here who may not know the ins and outs of soccer like we do in others sports, I’m curious as to your thoughts on the teams out of contention as we enter game 3 particularly related to style and intensity. I’m guessing with the stage so large, no teams are going to mail it in but I wonder if the same passion and energy are there? And how about style? Perhaps over deserves the first look because maybe a team like Costa Rica for example isnt going to look the play defense first, they are going to look to score? If anyone has any recollection of game 3 taking a different shape for these elimainated teams I’d love to hear thoughts thx |

I can't believe no one on that sideline said "coach, wtf are you doing?" and equally surprised the announcing crew didn't bring it up either.

With 4:56 to go in the 4th, you go for two. There is no question about that. The only two people in America who would kick are Graham and win4ever and both are equally inept. But shame on the whole asu coaching staff for not stepping up and getting in Graham's ear. I'm assuming no one did.

How come there are no African-American punters and kickers in football?

Very inspiring and thought provoking thread. I'm sure if any writers from ESPN see it they'll steal the idea and pose the question on Gameday tomorrow.
