i feel like this is getting complicated...
if it's 1.1 to win 1 unit and you have $400 my question was more in terms of when you say a unit of $20 would allow you to have a bankroll of 20 units, it seems to me that people on here think that's "to win" but if you have to risk 21-22-23-24 dollars to win $20, then you don't really have TWENTY units in your roll? maybe i'm making this more complicated than it needs to be and in addition, GB didn't win tonight so it's a moot point. thanks to everyone! |

for future reference i'd actually love an answer to that $ mgtm question actually....$400 risking 22-to win 20, does that count as a 20-unit balance?

thanks trich....
so then say i want my roll to always be minimum 20 units. if my roll was $400, I wouldn't be able to have a $20 unit because risking $22 each time would make my $400 roll less than 20units, correct? or no, it WOULD still be correct money mgmt to risk to win $20 each bet with a $400 roll? just want to make sure i'm triple confirmed sure how to do this correctly. thanks! |

When you say have a bankroll of 20-30 units, does that refer to bet size or win size?
in other words, for example, bankroll of $400, 20 units, does that mean you're RISKING $20 each bet or the unit with $400 would be to WIN $20 each bet...? thanks everyone!!! GO PACKERS! |

i think i'd start with $10, even though thats 15 units instead of the 20-30 Male recommended, unless I started on an absolutely terrible run, if I start out well, i'll immediately have the 20unit bankroll for $10 consistent plays.

just one last really heartfelt thanks to everyone
if GB wins, I'm gonna start doing either $5 plays if I'm betting more than one NBA in a night, and if just making 1 strong POD, will do between $10-15. and I'll use Male's system of 20-30 units in my bankroll to know when to adjust. thanks again everyone, and as a huge packers fan who also wants to get back into sports betting, GO PACK GO! LOL |

thanks fellas!! the $10 a play, you mean risk $10 or to win $10.
and I agree, what fun is betting to win $5 or to win $10, but if this is my starting point, and I do well, then a year from now I should have a unit more like $20-30, and while that's not a lot to some, would certainly be more fun than $5. LOL. Sooooo what pct of your bankroll is your unit size? looking to rod, duy, phat, broadwayjoe, gabby, allyhm and EVERYONE that I KNOW I am forgetting....thanks to ALL and go packers!! |

well what I mean is, I'm committed to trying to do it for the long-term, but in the immediate timeframe, I recognize it's a small amount of $.
Honestly, switching careers to a job that is SOLELY commission, and just got married, I can't justify taking money out of our acct and allocating it to sports gambling...so for now, that is what my account will be. I guess the real question for the serious gamblers on here is, what % of your bankroll is your unit? That would tell me all I need to know. Thanks fellas!! |
