I disagree with all of your pics. Your best shot is Arizona possibly getting a cover. Hightower and the offense motivated this week ,he can help the coaching staff a bit about Zona's offensive. Dallas is just a superior team to Sanfran. This is my play of the week. Carolina is not facing the same cardinal defense packers can stuff the run and the passing of the panthers. Extra days to prepare for this game.
At best IMO your looking at 1up and 2 down.

I think Dallas is a gift as well. 49ers offense was pathetic against the sea chickens. Sanfran isnt gonna score 2 special team touchdowns this week. Dallas needs this win more and are the desperate team they can stuff the run and Alex Smith is just not an accurate quarterback. Cowboys will bounce back this week. 49ers are just weak compared to Dallas. Boys win 24-13. |

This one is a tough call. I wish that Jags receiver hadnt mouthed off about the Jets defense , you know thats bill board material for them now. Jets dont blow out people, and the Jags are a team that hangs around. Motivated Jets Defense otherwise this might have been a letdown for the jets. Too tough too call but when in doubt take the points. |

Baltimore wins this game outright. Any other week in the season I would have taken pittsburgh they find a way to beat the ravens, this being game 1 ravens have to start the season with a statement. If they lose this game where do they go from here sure they can win a few games but this game will just haunt them people will just say well Pittsburgh will beat you again in pittsburgh. This will be a tight division and it starts with the Ravens winning game 1. Just like Houston beating Indy opening game last year. Same Scenario Ravens will take this. Shaky O-line for steelers.

I wanna take the 49ers but cant find a compelling reason to take them here. Falcons defense are averaging 2 ints a game 49ers are giving up the football a lot. No question who wins the turnover battle here. Plus the 49ers defense not only are they giving up 30 points a game their 3rd down defense is terrible (46.2 %). Their problem is like a double headed snake not only they have serious offense shortcomings their defense is not playing well either. 49 ers promoted their qb's coach to the new OC I dont know the background on him but Im not so sure if he was even a good qb's coach judging by what Alex smith has done. Plus the 49ers OL is gonna take some time to get bet better. Searching hard to take 49ers ( plus their offensive line is allowing sacks and a lot of pressure as well) just to many problems to resovle in 1 week. Last year I watched that game def line for the falcons manhandled the 49ers line. Absolutely no reason at all that wont continue. What they couldnt do all offseason I dont see them getting everything resovled in 1 week. Plus Matt Ryan has lost only 1 game in his life at home. Still searching cant find a reason...Only thing I can come up with is this a letdown for the falcons after beating the saints. ( pretty weak reason) next game the falcons play is against cleveland which I think will be a tougher game than this one. NFL is not an exact science either sometimes you go against logic.. Even that is hard in this case...I still wanna take the 49ers if I can find something positive before kick off. But as it stands right now it looks like the falcons will score at least 30 points on their turf. Atlanta 30 San Fran 13 How many of you see a letdown from the falcons here ?. I dont see it. |

We both wind up at 9-5 ATS, but we get there in differant ways. . Disappointed in the Jaguars That was my upset pick for the day , I pick one every week that wasnt even close today.Surprise of the day has to be the Rams. Those Chiefs are a lot better than I thought. Hope the Dolphins and the Packers come through next.

Im having trouble with this one. Even though Miami won, jets completely dominated in the game I saw, fumble return for td by JT and ted guinn kick off return cost the jets the game. Otherwise it was a complete domination, if they can do it once should be able to do it again. Wild card is the beast Marshall. I am leaning towards the jets they cant fall 2 games behind the dolphins. But then a gain opening game for fins, this one is a tough call hard to really decide on this one. Miami barely hung on to beat buffalo. What makes you lean one way or the other on this one.

I agree totally there is always a week when the morning games dont turn out as well and there are afternoon games that dont bail you out. Since you got 20 games right. I should declare my record as well Ive got 18 so far. I am in the raider fans pigskin pickem pool on espn. All my pics are there for the first 2 weeks. Ive got to catch up 2 games to you first.

I am starting the year right around where I set my goals in the off season (20-11ATS YTD) 64.5% , so I am pleased with how things are going out of the gate. I am going to do my best to hit around 65%+ by the end of the year predicting every game on the card (ATS) just like last year when I went (155-103-7ATS) 60.08%. A few people have asked about my strongest leans/plays for a particular weekend. I will do my best throughout the season to provide analysis and answer questions as time permits. There will usually be a few games throughout the season I feel stronger than normal about, and that will certainly be specified on the card as the season progresses. Here is what I have in the forecast for Week 3. These plays are final. Early Games Kansas City +3 Dallas +3 Atlanta +4 Cleveland +10.5 Detroit +11 Pittsburgh -1 Cincinnati -3 N.Y. Giants -3 New England -14 Late Games Oakland +4.5 Philadelphia -3 Washington -3.5 San Diego -5.5 Indianapolis -5.5 Sunday Night Game Miami PICK Monday Night Game Chicago +3 Best of luck to everyone regardless of your plays! FF I really take pride in my picks and have been consistantly winning most pools the last 28 years or so. I am glad I found your thread. Always looking for a challenge when I finish my picks I will gladly post them all here. This picks I am differant than yours already. I dont like your Kansas City and Cleveland pick at all. There are probably gonna be 2 more possibly 3 when I finish up I will post the rest. I love challenges like this and I hope you post every week. I will post my indifferant picks as well. Judging by your style I see us disagreeing with about 5 to 6 picks a week. Please post every week. I was looking for somebody that posts every game. I love the challenge. I will only post the pics that are differant. Lets keep track week to week. |

They all look really good. I mean really good. No one is gonna agree with me but I think the lions have the best chance in spoiling your play. Lions can rush the qb they sacked vick 6 times and favre is an easier target.

Their front 7 got after Rivers last week and Delhomme doesn't have the elusiveness that Seneca Wallace does to avoid that rush. Chiefs dominating SD with 68 passing yards. Chargers were terrrible in the red zone. For me this is a tough call on the other hand romeo was the head coach for cleveland and he knows the team pretty well. If cleveland loses this game they could easily be 0-9 their schedule for the next 7 games are all possible playoff teams. (bal, cinc,Atl,pitts,New orleans,N.E., Nyjets). They have to win this one ,but the familiarity of romeo knowing them well concerns me,its difficult to lean one way or the other on this one. |

Throwing money away would be wagering on the Cardinals thinking you have this great line against the Rams at -4 when in all actuality, you will be disappointed when the clock hits Zero. If you really want to get into it the Rams have a healthy Oshiomogho Atogwe, who was injured for the majority of last year, and is also one of the best safety's in the game hands down... Fitzgerald will be doubled all game and Derek Anderson is garbage and so is their offense... the Rams also upgraded on the defensive front with Robbins and Diggs... Stephen Jackson will have a field day and Bradford will prove to be the 2nd best QB in the West
It turned out to be a push. Your right about the safety ,I was impressed with the Bradford. Defensive line was tenanicious. Will keep an eye on them. They do lack reveivers and could use a tight end as well. Stephen Jackson is a bull. |

Steelers at home they wanna prove they can win without Ben. They are tired of hearing about the Ravens and Bengals this when a team can be dangerous. Read message above told you about the steelers and the packers.Kolb really sucks, if he is starting play the other team. |

This one is a tough call, with the titans starting 3 rookies on their defense. I was thinking of the raiders but seriously thinking of changing to the titans. Cause raiders run defense is till bad look at their last 3 pre season games they were still horrible. Titans remember last year very well they dont wanna get off on the wrong foot this year. I still believe they have a lot of confidance after winning 8 0f 10 last year ( 2 losses to indy and SD). Raiders are improved but no schilens will hurt them a lot and their run defense still sucks. Titans start rookie safety but raiders still havent shown me a vertical game so far to take advantage of that. This is the only game I cant decide on.
