Except for the 3-point shot.
The Spurs, at least for the last 2/3 years, have run something of a gimmick O (hoist a lot of 3's). While it certainly proves successful throughout the regular season and against lesser playoff teams, it's not the type of O that a team can sustain for the long run. I wonder at what point the other shoe drops and they start missing them (Memphis would probably have to try to guard to start). |

Michigan is #150 in the nation in three-point rate (35%). Meaning it's only slightly above average in terms of % of its total shots coming from 3. So not sure why you cited Kansas's ability to guard the 3 as a huge factor.
In any event, Withey does scare me. Not a great matchup for Michigan with Kansas's interior strength and tendency to slow it down.

Because they live and die by the 3. That sh*t doesn't last in the NBA.

Just look back to Lebron's unbeatable teams in 2009, 2010,and 2011 in game 6's, down 1 game. Notice a trend?

Well, when you sign w/ a team that already includes Wade (a superstar) and know that they'll sign Bosh (a wanna-be superstar), you should fully expect that the rest of the team is deficient in most areas. Not enough money to go around. This is karma at its finest. He makes a dog and pony of show of the process, proves that needs the security blanket of another superstar, and people still make excuses for him. It's great.

You can't see them losing 4 in a row? They just lost 3 in a row. All things being equal, OKC is the better team right now -- by a good margin. Your words resemble the gambler's fallacy issue where one sees black/red 3 times in a row and expects the opposite color to show simply because it's "due." That logic fails when the outcome is a 50/50 proposition, let alone a scenario where OKC easily has a better than 50/50 shot just based on recent performances.

How can one be confident in the Giants? Honestly. They're playing AWFUL baseball right now. This isn't a slight against you. I'm honestly just curious as to how someone can back a team w/ this anemic offense and general failure at winning games over the last month.

Well, contrary to Lebron's intimations, I will not be on Suicide Watch tomorrow (as he is likely to be). His mental makeup is a house of cards.

It's comments like these that reaffirm my faith in the Mavs. Honestly, people with your mindset are exactly what makes the books profitable. The ol' "this team is so lucky, the other team keeps giving away the games" shit is so trite, even laughable. You realize that sports are about results. The Mavs have the best road record in the playoffs, have consistently come back in 4th quarters, and are up 3-2 in the series. Please, indulge me. How in fact are the Mavs in any sense of the word lucky or an inferior team? This is what they do. On the flip side, the Heat have blown a late lead in all 3 of their losses. Do you not notice this obvious trend? The mental resolve of the Mavs is far superior, and in a matchup that is more or less equal when it comes to talent and depth, what do you think will prevail? You, like all Heat backers, will continue chasing. And you will fail miserably. |

Get real. He thinks of himself as a legend. Not a great player, not the best player: but a something bigger than the game. He absolutely deserves the flak when he performs like that. Not sure what the issue is. The guy is soft as Charmin.
