The English fans were still singing and supporting their guy all the way through the interviews. At least their fans are passionate and real. My only problem with them was booing the national anthem. You just don't do that shit, especially being from the UK. They'd be supporting Klischko and speaking German if we didn't save their ass in WWII

Beating the Colts only proved that a healthy Pats team can barely squeak by a hurt Colts team that didnt have to cheat to win a superbowl.
How do you know the Colts' didn't cheat? How do you know what any other team does or did for that matter? Also, did it occur to you that the Colts were at home, had the refs in their pocket, the underdog edge, the artificial crowd noise, etc, etc, yet they still couldn't win? The better team won, plain and simple, and they proved they didn't have to do anything illegal to win. Do you honestly think someone as smart as Belichik would openly film his opponent if this wasn't considered an unwritten acceptable practice? The little rat fuck who disrespected his mentor gets what he deserves now and the world will witness the first 20+ point spread ever in the NFL when the Jets visit Foxboro next month. How hard do you think it is for a team to put an employee in a corporate box or hidden in the rafters secretly filming opponents? Not hard at all ! So if filming was such a big deal and Belichik was just doing what everyone else does or has done, that's what he would have done to avoid getting caught. Get a grip |

It is actually a nice luxury to put whoever you want with a game on the line. Red Sox will play fine at Corrs. There might be more Boston fans at the game than Rocks fans, especially for Sunday's game. Manny will be taken out in the 8th or 9th only for defensive reasons and if he is due up he will not be taken out prematurely.
One topic that hasn't even been brought up is strategy and double switches. I have every confidence in Francona to make the correct decisions as he coached in the NL previously.
I'm a Sox backer and live in Boston but how can you say Francona is going to make the right moves in Col when he can't make the right moves in the much simpler AL game? The guy is simply not that smart. They win in spite of him. A monkey can coach the Sox or Yankees when you're provided with a $150mm payroll roster |

First round they beat the '07 Yankees, not the '99 Yankees or the '96 Yankees, but the '07 squad who was so distracted by A-Rod even always composed Derek Jeter lost his cool (recall the interview where he was saying "we, we, we") The '07 Yankees have a very weak rotation outside of Wang and feature players that are nothing like they once were in their prime (Mariano Rivera, Johnny Damon, Jason Giambi etc.) This team was nothing like Yankees teams of the past. In the ALCS the Indians were exposed as a team with two inexperienced and overrated aces as well as a team with the tendency to "choke" just as all Cleveland teams do. They were an overrated squad by all means.
Dude, you're smoking crack. The AL central was the 2nd best division in baseball after the AL east. The Cleveland aces simply hit a wall although their inexperience in big games didn't help. The only reason the Sox don't take this in 6 is Francona is a fucking retard of a manager. He'll singlehandedly cost them 2 games so its Boston in 7. I do hope the NL backers continue to drink the cool-aid so that the lines come back down to a reasonable level. This series is akin to the Superbowl. Conference mismatches at epic proportions. |

Perhaps it was because fucking idiot Phillips decided to call a TO with less than minutes to go. Serves him right! Also, I think Belichek took pleasure in wiping Phillip's stupid ass smile off his face. The guy looks like the opposing coach in Water Boy

TomCurtis, I think you could have rallied the Patriots to victory at that point. Tom Brady, Tom Curtis, it would have made no difference.
Brady is great and he is super clutch, but he is not a better quarterback than Peyton Manning. Brady in his Super Bowl winning years was always backed up a great defense, something Manning has never enjoyed. Brady has always benefitted from superior coaching, again a major advantage that Manning has never had as a pro. It's insulting how highly regarded Brady is over Manning, and this personal playoff dominance is not going to continue. The Colts moved the ball with ease in the last two regular season meetings against the Pats weakened defense, and they will do it again with similar ease in the comfortable environment of their home Dome where they have won 24 of 27 games the last three seasons. You're absolutely right, Brady was backed by a solid defense and a hall of fame coach. He was also backed up by average to below average running backs, a below avg offensive line and very below average receivers. What have Branch, Givens, Patton or any other ex Patriot WR done with their other teams? NOTHING. Brady basically handed them their big contracts to sign as free agents elsewhere.
Manning on the other hand has consistently had one of the top 3 offensive lines, top 3 RB's, 2 hall of fame WR's, a very good coach and the benefit of the NFL desperately wanting him to win (in other words, favorable calls for the past 3 years at least).
I'm a missing something here? Since when has Brady been considered better than Manning. Other than local Boston media, the rest of the world blows Manning every chance they get. If Brady had his weapons, it would be a fucking joke. If Manning had Brady's defense and coach, he would still panic in big games. That's just his persona.
