Point taken on the defense, but how about hitting a couple of stupid free throws there at the end to cover -2? Lucky they even won.

I do the same thing. Teams piss me off I'll never bet on them again regardless. Hawaii, Illinois, Texas a&m, uconn to name a few. Cleveland st burned me that last game too so add them to the list.

Some people call them sucker bets. Just teams favored by 8-9 and consider it a pick game. If one of those lose SU or win by 1 point you'll lose. I play them occasionally when I don't have the balls to bet a parlay.

I had them at -3.5. Already considered it lost the way the game started anyway...

Hi everyone,
I posted this on the CBB board, but it's also going to apply to NBA so though I would post here as well to get more feedback: I don't post much, but I've been here a while lurking around... I am working on a new system that I think could work out pretty good. It's going to factor in several things such as trends, angles, etc. But interestingly here is some other factors that I have built into it: the top 5 handicappers overall on Covers, the top 5 weekly leaders, and I have chosen several posters here that, for now, I will not name names, that I believe to be some of the best here. I have a formula that assigns every single game ATS and totals. I basically then end up with a rank of every game and total. The idea here is to take, the top play or so each day and give it a shot. Here's what feedback I would like: Any kind of angles that you play, trends, other factors that I can include. Also, if anyone is interested in seeing the output of this and how many plays each day would you like to see? If there's enough interest, I will post those plays each day and keep up with the record. It might be pretty good or it might be pretty bad? Who knows. Worth a shot. Oh wait....what is it? I GUARANTEE TO HIT 65% WITH THIS OVER THE NEXT MONTH!!! Haha... |

Holy crap!!! I had the worst weekend I've ever had and I thought it was bad. Had some terrible losses. Stupid fixed game with Hawaii among others....I'm going to step back, start fresh, and analyze what I'm doing wrong, less plays, better spots...I can tell you this though....don't chase!!!! Trust me. Been there, done that and lose every time. Yet I don't listen to my own advice....if you really want to make money then you have to accept that it's a slow process. It's win the war not the battle. This should be entertainment and nothing more. Good luck dude!!!

My poor Bobcats...they may not win 5 games this year. If they can't beat the Wizards then might as well forget it...man, if there was a book where you could parlay the next 8 Bobcats games...that would be the lock of the whatever. And I don't believe in "lock of the whatever"...

I agree with this 100% but like an idiot I pulled the trigger on Lakers -13. Got lucky as crap I guess. Quote Originally Posted by richwins81:

SF and NE that's the way I'm leaning - then I guess it's all over for NE since all this stuff about "Defense wins championships"...just not sure...when does experience come into play? NE been there done that...

I was just thinking the same thing...what storyline does everyone want to see Harbaugh vs. Harbaugh or a Super Bowl rematch of Giants/Patriots? Obviously could be neither which is the way I'm leaning...SF and NE...

Ok everyone. The real reason to take the Giants here is that I took GB -7.5. I have been wrong on every single game except NE last night. GB wins but not cover is best guess on this game.

I am with you on 99% of your NBA plays and all 4 of these. Man, hope we have better luck with these picks than NBA so far....

I can't listen to most announcers so i broadcast the games to myself. Plus and this will sound dumb but its hard for me to just watch a baseball game. IDK why but i just do. I think the Braves are re-tooling and i have them winning 86 games maybe being a wildcard. getting rid of lowe is a But they're probably gonna bank on Hanson,Jurrjens Teheran and Delgado. Hanson and Jurrjens can do it if they stay healthy. But teheran and Delgado would be in their 1st big league season. The Braves didn't need to really go get anything in my opinion provided the 2nd half Dan Uggla shows up for the whole season. And hopefully a bounce back from Jason Heyward I know I feel sorry for Cubs fans. I'm telling you though, they are the most loyal fans of any!! Yeah I just feel like the whole NL East Division added pieces and the Braves didn't. They still need a SS and LF...they should be OK with pitching if they stay healthy and don't trade JJ. |

I've been following since the beginning...I always run the plays through my formula every morning. Same formula, but I am using scoresandodds.com for my opening lines. It seems to be producing less plays than what you guys are coming up with and the winning % is higher.
I am currently working on a similar model for NBA games. Instead of kenpom it will be my lines based on stats only. From there it will be the same...

Embarrassingly the atlanta braves. After that debacle the last month of the season, which I still haven't recovered from, it's hard to admit being a braves fan. They haven't done one single thing to improve the team either. Other than get rid of Lowe. Addition by subtraction I suppose...what about you? Who's your team?

So ready for baseball. I've been a non-betting baseball fan and a hoops and football bettor. Going to try my hand at baseball this year since my team is going to suck!

Huge Carolina fan here...and I had Miami +16. If wasn't for the white boy hitting a 3 at the end it would have covered. Oh well.
