Both teams are 2-4 against the 'better' teams on their schedule.
This one looks to be close.
Those State Penn Nittany kittys to win, but not by 6
I'll take the Army Trainning Corp boys + 5 1/2...... Franchione not being there, can only help those Tejas Ammo & Munitions folks out, in the long run.

Oops, my bad ....on MSU not having played in a 'major' bowl game in almost 40 years. I got them mixed up with Kansas there for a minute, sorry 'bout that. I'm not sure how long it's been since MSU played in a major bowl and it doesn't really matter. oopmsu.....did you not read the question marks after my sentence of: "Boston College, best bet on the board???" I guess you didn't see that either, you must have the Ray Charles ...... affliction. Here's to ya pal |

CLASSY oppmsu..... real CLASSY. Do you do the same thing, when you lose? Oh...you say you don't huh, hmmm..........
Congrats to you on winning your bet.
My SU bet pushed, and I won my BC at the 1/2 bet, so what are you harping about?
Hey, 75% of the betters were on BC, are you dissing them as well? Somebody HAS to lose, EVERYtime -- although I'm sure that YOU never have.
Michigan State still LOST the first 'major' bowl game they've been in.....in nearly 40 years. They went home losers.
And BC has now won EIGHT (8) bowl games in a row, so their bowl track record is STILL best in the entire country.
Be happy you won your bet, and quit crowing.

I pushed my BC -3 bet daggummit. If Ryan hadn't fumbled the damn snap, BC would've covered all bets. Oh well...
Mich St did give it a grand ole try (SU) and played an exciting and tough game.
Congrats to the Michigan State guys who won, which is most of you I reckon.

As I stated a while back in the Navy thread that the layoff between the regular season and the bowl games takes an effect to the passing teams and favors the running team. I would normally lean on taking the stronger running team but in this case the stronger running team is facing a very strong defense. In addition MSU is without their key members esp on defense. BC comes into this Bowl game with a 7 bowl game win streak under former coach O'Brien and they are looking to extend their Bowl game win streak under new head coach Jeff Jagodzinski. The NFL scouts will be on the lookout for Matt Ryan as he should be the top prospect for the QB's in next years NFL draft. IMO he will be out to put on a show for the scouts for this game. MSU is up against a high powered passing attack of BC and MSU are 3-15 ats when they allow 8 yds or more per pass attempt. BC's unsung player IMO is senior tailback Andre Callender if he can get going early that will definitely open up the passing game for Ryan. BTW Callender is one heck of a receiver as well. I've got more games to look at so here it goes for this one.... Boston College at the half -3 Aloha and good luck to all **** Nice insight BD, am adding your 1st half bet to my BC-3 for game bet. Good luck to both of us my friend. |

Now verified by the Roanoke Times and World News.
He must sit a quarter for being late to the final practice held in Blacksburg on friday.
This certainly doesn't help matters any, but could it hurt us?
Only time will tell.

Simpson may play after all, looking likely now. But not Cook.

Both guys are out it seems, and most probable culprit is academics.
This revolting revelation puts a damper on the Cavaliers chances for certain.
A starting RB (Simpson) who was just beginning to come into his own and a starting CB (Cook) from their already weakest area (pass defense) who will be severely missed against that strong arm of Harrell, the Texas Tech QB.
Going to have to go with Red Raiders for certain now.

OOPMSU...
All those stats you bring up to point out that BC doesn't have a good rushing defense are totally MOOT!
How can you say "anything" bad, about a team's rush "D", when they're plainly ranked number ONE in the entire country, for all to see?
I was simply showing stats to present a differing viewpoint, so don't take it personal guy, it's college football after all. We can agree to disagree, and still be friends K?
Good luck to you hosscollar and may your losses allways be small
By the way podna, somewhat surprisingly, I found more in my Christmas Stocking than just an old 'lump of coal' ... but don't you be underestimating those old chunks of coal my friend, as "those things that are claimed as a girl's best friend" have been known to come from those dirty old black thingies Peace brother

Leaky in secondary but solid. I'll take the matchup of covering Calander in space as that's where BC gets a ton of their yardage. If Big Ten knows anything, it's how to cover the RB out of the backfield. Look forward to the matchup of our balanced offense against BC's D and still going solid on first half MSU. Oopmsu: Your numbers in two key areas are misleading: For example: BC's 105th rushing offense - BC lost three of their RBs this year, 2 for the season, but....their best one will be back and healthy for this game. Same thing with their 104th ranked passing defense - their best defensive back has been out, as well as 3 other defensive backfield guys. Their best guy is back and healthy, and likely two of those safeties may be back also. This will somewhat aleviate those high numbers. |

It was posted (linked) on the TSL (VT) message boards hawkeyefan1433. Actually, KU was rated 'much worse' than 71st, until 'given credit' for playing VT.
Here are some numbers that should help all you folks out there possibly:
Rank of Scoring Defenses....faced by Kansas --
Toledo - 116th
Florida International Univ - 115th
Nebraska - 114th
Baylor - 112th
Central Mich - 107th
Iowa State - 94th
Kansas State 87th
Colorado - 78th
Oklahoma State - 76th
Texas A&M - 55th
Missouri - 44th
**Note: The "best" scoring "D" that KU faced was Missouri....
which allowed 24 1/2 points a game.
90.727 is the average rank of "scoring defenses" they played.
The schedule they played is not exactly a "Murderer's Row" of feared teams.
You be the judge

-Toughest Schedule-
(teams with at least 9 inter-division games)
sorted on cumulative opposition
Virginia Tech was rated to have the 'number ONE'..... toughest schedule in the ncaa final 'strength of schedule' standings, with Kansas coming in at number 71, for what it's worth.
