Horrendous matchup for Denver. Run defense is the key for anybody facing Denver. Pitts 8th in the league there...1st in pass defense. How will Denver move the ball?? 17 points by Ben and they cover.

Comparing the Eagles this season to the Jets last season is extremely foolish. It all starts at QB...Sanchez is a mediocre NFL QB. So forget about winning the offseason and all that garbage...comparing the two situations isn't logical. There are so many more factors that lend to the Eagles being a better team this year than last besides their off season acquisitions. A: Vick was the backup all last off season and training camp. This is his first year going into the season as the starter in Philly. Huge difference. B: Bringing in Howard Mudd and Jim Washburn to coach the O and D lines. Probably the two best line coaches of the last 10-15 years....and not really arguable. C: Experience....D Jax, Maclin, and McCoy are all about to enter their primes.
Notice I haven't mentioned any of the signings/trade acquisitions that are headlining all of the media reports since the CBA passed. If you looked behind the Jets curtain last year, you saw that despite all of their great additions...they still had a second year QB who was mediocre at best running the team. Don't get me wrong...great team...just not ready. If you look behind the curtain of this years Eagles offseason, you can see they were already primed to improve. If you put down the hatorade for a minute, you can see how they are primed for a huge year. But go ahead....be a contrarian....prove to yourself that you are different and smarter than everybody else. Just don't cry about losing "units" because of your stubborn opinion without expecting to hear...."I told you so."

Everyone throws "Vick won't stay healthy" out there like its some kind of gurantee. Last year he took 37 sacks behind a horrendous C/RG/RT combo. This year enter Howard Mudd(the best o line coach of all time, arguably) and new starters at all 3 of those positions. He's going to get hit a whole lot less this year.
Hell...Rodgers got sacked 34 times last year and he didn't stay healthy all year long...but nobody tosses away the Packers Super Bowl hopes because of his durability. And the Packers haven't done anything to improve their protection except cross their fingers that Ryan Grant can create some kind of running game this year.

Ravens scored 24, Jets scored 19. And I love how your "stat" starts the week after they gave up 39 to the Pats, 21 to Cinnci, 20 to the Saints, and 22 to Miami in 4 consecutive weeks. A more impressive stat is the fact that Green Bay has never been behind by more than 7 all year. If I'm backing Pittsburgh, I'd be worried about the Steelers o-line, and the fact that everyone is shocked by the line. If you are shocked by the line, then you are probably missing something. |

A win is a win. A loss is a loss. A moose is sour grapes. There wasn't a good play in this game. And yet, 99% on these boards backed Indy. Why?!?! What have they done ATS to warrant a play?!?! If you backed Indy you got what you deserved. If you backed Tennessee you are a flat out gambler who got lucky. But money changes hands.

So did Titans backers cap this one wrong and get lucky??? A loss is a loss is a loss. That's why its called gambling. A moose hurts a little bit worse....but its still a loss.

Hey WhiteMice...I wasn't really talking about you. I was just looking over a lot of threads and that seemed to be the consensus thinking. I don't really have a feeling one way or another on this game. Tennessee looks to have quit on Jeff Fisher. But Peyton just doesn't look like himself anymore. Their o-line stinks, RBs stink, and everyone besides Wayne and Tamme stink catching the ball. Their defense isn't great either. The one person who I "trust with my money" in this one is Peyton. But could he be hurt??? That would explain why he is playing so poorly... It looks like he is forcing throws, afraid to get hit. I don't trust either side enough right now to make a play. |

These Indy bets remind me of watching a drunk guy continually bet black on a roulette table because, "It can't possibly come up red again!!!" Then he loses all his money and goes home. Haha...I'm not saying I don't agree with the play...I'm just saying that the reasoning behind the play people are giving is a little weak. Hahah...good luck

The question is....who are YOU to determine what the correct side is in this game??? If the Bears cover then I'm WRONG. I'm wrong often...about 40% of the time. Please stop with the emoticons. My only point is...if you really feel Chicago is the side in this game....then you need to have patience. The lines going to move in your favor. All that being said...you are on the wrong side. You can say whatever you want about feet being on pedals...the Eagles were an onsides kick recovery from going right down the field again for the win. That game was decided on two things....the Eagles ineffiency in the redzone and the Eagles defense not being able to adjust to the field conditions. A: The Pats have better red zone options than the Eagles. B: Despite how terrible the Pats defense is....they still can fool Cutler into making mistakes. The Bears are going to try and pressure Brady on defense and run the ball on offense. I don't think its going to work Sunday. |

Please save your comparisons between the Eagles game and this one. The Eagles are a big play offense that relies on 5 step drops and receivers getting deep. The Pats are a short to medium route running offense that dices a cover 2. The Pats o-line is much much much better than the Eagles.
Oh and I almost forgot....the Eagles put up 26 points on the Bears regardless of their "shutdown" defense. |

Anyone who takes the Bears +3 doesn't have a clue. This game will be up to +4 in a day or so. May get pushed beyond that. But I smell another double reverse trap game haha....where "joe public" takes the sharps to school.

+3.09 units last week 3-2 SU 1-0 parlays I jumped on 3 games early because the lines will be on the move. Pats -3 -115 for 3 units Honestly, this is the perfect spot for a Bears upset. But when it comes to Brady, Belichick, and the Pats in December, I don't worry about all of that. The Pats offense is the exact kind of offense that kills the Bears cover 2. Short to medium range passes to tight ends and running backs. Not relying on the big play. Ability to run the ball. I don't pay juice on pushes so I jumped on this while it was still at 3. I'm sure it'll be at 4 or more by gametime. Tampa -1.5 -110 2 units This has more to do with the Redskins than the Bucs. The Skins are falling apart on both sides of the ball. Donovan McNabb has struggled his entire career against the Bucs cover 2 defense...and that was with quality around him. Now I do have some concern about the injuries to Jeff Faine and Aquib Talib....but the Skins aren't exactly the picture of health right now. I expect Tampa to rebound emotionally from that tough loss against Atlanta with a lot of fire. Washington, on the other hand, will be one bad series from getting booed out of the building. That is a fragile squad right now. Finally..... Philly -3.5 -105 This is a revenge game for the Eagles...embarrassed twice by Dallas at the end of last year to end their season. Also in play is Reids record off of a bye week. This isn't a full out bye week...but the extra rest will bring back Asante Samuel and Juqua Parker. Dallas is on a great run ATS....that will come to an end here. |

With Rex Ryan's defensive background, I believe you're going to see shades of the NY Giant/NE Super Bowl where he's not going to have time to be as effective. Ryan and the entire NY staff will use all of this Brady never loses in Foxboro to their competitive advantage. Let's hope the game is as good as it's hyped! That statement I enlarged is why you shouldn't gamble on sports. If what the "talking heads" say on TV has anything to do with your plays, then you really shouldn't be wasting your time or your money. What happens on the field has nothing to do with the perception of whats going to happen on the field. Whats going to happen...is going to happen. I could understand being scared off of a play because of too much public sentiment....maybe backing down how large of a play to make...but flipping your play??? Thats ridiculous. You know you don't have to make a play on every game to be profitable, right? |

There is a better chance of Panthers winning the Super Bowl than the pats scoring 31 I don't think the Pats will score 31..but lets not be confused by this Jets defense. They have given up 20 or more points in 6 of their 11 games. Their bark is much worse than their bite. The Leonhard injury is a huge deal. I cap this as a 3-4 point Pats win. No play. |
